How do you think the coaches will game plan against LSU?

Last year we did not stack the box against LF, but still limited him to 1.6 ypc. Will we be able to do the same this year? I think a lot of that depends on how EJ4's replacement does.

Offensively, I would like to see us build a game plan similar to 2012 BCSNCG where we do a lot of sideline passes where either our guy gets it or nobody does. I'd also like to see more screens to the running backs.

I think offensively we pound them inside and then work off of it with runs and throws. Same type of thing we've been doing. Make them think so much that they miss something.

We are gonna zone read them to death and throw short. I think it will be good for 3 tds and our defense does the rest. 21-0.

I think we'll try to stop their run straight up, without stacking the box. Our linebackers have been doing great at filling the gaps, and stopping them with a loss or a couple yards. If that doesn't work and we have to stack, we'll play man and blitz Etling hard, and attempt to force bad throws.

I expect a lot of zone read. We seem to be running up the middle well the last couple games. And with most of Lsu's talent on the edge of the line, i think we'll go up the middle. Plenty of play action, so the running game will be our focal point. Lsu has too good of a secondary for Freshwater to get too cute. We may toss a few deep just to keep them honest, but his throws will be mostly shorter routes.

Offense: Run on them

Defense: Stop the run

Got to stop the run and force their QB to beat you passing. Hootie is more of your typical safety, which means he is a little bigger then Eddie and that should be good against LSU's running backs. TB is pretty physical too.

LSU will try to stop the run up the middle. They won't fear the deep ball and will probably bring their safeties up. OJ Howard will be the x-factor in this game. Him and Hurts breaking runs on pass plays.

This will be a very tough game, I expect Bama to win a 17-14 type game.

Be curious to see how LSU does against the zone read, they have struggled against it some in the past. Auburn really ran the ball well between the twenties but then got shut down in the red zone.

On defense not much has changed, they rely heavily on their running game to setup the play action. If you can stop their run without bringing the safety down, you will have success. Etling does not have a big arm, he is nowhere near Mettenberg level.

The real question is if coach O, coaching for his job spreads out his offense and tries to dink and dunk. I don't think LSU really has the personal to do this though... Even if they do, I haven't seen it from etling

Start out fast however offensively. I know Ridley is the most explosive player on offense, but get Ardarius the ball out in open space and he can get extra yards.

Just whatever, don't play this game close to the chest. Be aggressive, take downfield shots, and keep LSU's defense on the field. The longer we have the ball, the more fatigued their defense gets. Also puts more pressure on Etling to make critical throws and puts them game on his shoulders. That's where the defense can really take advantage of some risky passes.

I agree with that offensive gameplan, use OJ Howard, Ardarius and Ridley alot in the passing game.

The only thing that worries me is the trouble Alabama's LB's seemed to have against Ford this past weekend. I think a big, fast RB that can get to the edge might give them some trouble, although they'll certainly be keyed on LF more than they were Ford. I think he surprised them, honestly.

I really didn't understand why Evans wasn't on the field more this past weekend. With his speed, he can spy a fast QB and let the other guys worry about the run.

he jumped offside that one play and was immediately replaced. don't recall seeing that much after that.
