Not taken out of context

"We have a whole series of games. Alabama is not the only one I'm worried about."

Isn't that the opposite of what coaches want u to be thinking?

He must not have watched their OL play last year.

I liked the part about him talking about Bama's DL. You know Saban will put that up somewhere his DL can see it.

FSU will have a fantastic D-line this season, but he definitely should've worded his thoughts differently

His quote:
quote:

"I think, honestly, we probably have a better defensive line than they have," FSU sophomore offensive guard Landon Dickerson told reporters, via Jacksonville.com. "I'm competing against them every day for the next month. I'm not terribly concerned about Alabama. Alabama's one game. We have Miami (two weeks later), always a good game, then N.C. State, which has a great defense. We have a whole series of games. Alabama is not the only one I'm worried about."

I hope their whole team comes out acting like assholes. We seem to do better when that happens

Worry about things you can control.

He can't control Bama's D line.

This is the quote that will be shown to the players. not the rest. This is what will be in the locker room & weight room. I, for one, am glad he said it.

Saban isn't usually very big on "bulletin board material." Fans always care way more about that kind of thing than players and coaches do.

You didn't see the reports from the Bama locker room before the Washington game last year?

They had stuff up on the walls that Washington players had said and most of it was taken out of context.

Saban will use everything he can to keep his players motivated.

He's not wrong. Win the ACC and they are in position for the playoff even with a loss to UA.

If you need bulletin board material, you've already lost.

The players have all seen this article, this is the kind of talk that pushes you to bench that extra rep or sprint that extra bit. People will never get, don't trash talk bama just show up.

I wouldn't let my players talk to the media unless I was 100% certain they would follow the script I give them for media interviews....

This FSU player is just being confident in his team, but because of his poor choice of words everything he said is now hanging in our locker room and weight room

If you're talking about in game, then yes. Once you step on the field, it all goes away. But bulletin board material can be highly motivating in preparation time. It doesn't guarantee anything, but it can give you an extra push.

Life in general is full of bulletin board material. Some of the most successful people in the world are at the top because they were motivated by people who said they couldn't do "it".

Rather Saban puts this up or not, it'll have no impact on the game. I don't think our guys need a dumb quote to get ready for Florida State. This stuff only works when it's an opponent you'd otherwise overlook.

Isn't their interior O-line their weakness?

As already said ... Alabama doesn't need bulletin board material.

Don't need it but every football team uses it. Dumb move on that kid's part.
