I thought this was a good read. I hope the guy gets a second chance. He's handling himself and his situation like a man should.

Bo Davis speaks publicly for first time about Alabama departure, NCAA investigation

The fact that there is potential booster involvement causes me a bit of worry.

I don't doubt that - I simply don't want to see some asshat that thinks he's important cause problems for the program. Assuming the story is accurate, whomever set that meeting up needs to be publicly identified and eviscerated.

It may be another 5 years, but Davis is too good of a coach to never do it again...

Booster? Sounds like a coach at the Texas high school.

Exactly. So I'm not sure why people were freaking out over a "booster". This exact scenario occurred before with the assistant coach being reprimanded. Davis was fired because he tried to cover it up.

Not according to the story.

Episcopal coach Steve Leisz said that person close to the Tide program contacted him about pulling the four players out of class. That person was later present as Davis met with the players for approximately 20 minutes, according to Leisz.

Yeah, the NCAA hates dishonest people more than the transgressions they may commit.

Lie to 'em and you're in deep shite that takes a while wash off.....Jim Tressel, Bruce Pearl, etc.

I'm surprised the NFL hasn't hit him up yet for a longer term gig.
