I know people were down on him this year, but let's not forget he tore his acl in spring practice, was not 100% physically and probably not mentally (trusting the knee). The fact that he came back that fast (maybe too fast) shows how hard he's willing to work. I fully expect he will make a big improvement, similar to what cyrus jones did from last year to this. He was the one everyone was down on this time last year

I haven't given up on him, I would have been more pressed to do I so if this was his 3rd season in the system.

He's still a relatively young buck who has had a tastes of success, but ended the season on low notes.

I too think he'll improve. It's funny to think that our biggest weakness last season (CB play) could actually be a tremendous strength next year with the exact same players plus the two 5*s coming in. May be wishful thinking on my part but it's not that far-fetched given the flashes we saw from EJ as a frosh and the potential of TB and MH and the progress by Cyrus. Sylve could carve out a role too

He'll be better next season. My biggest question is if he will move to safety.

I actually feel pretty good about the corners next season. If we get the safeties figured out the D should be nasty.

It's sucks missing out on Vonn Bell and Tony Conner. Imagine the defense with them...

EJ better be at safety next season. He is wasted at CB and we're slowing down our development of other CBs like TB and MH.

He's not wasted at CB IF he returns to 2013 form. Could be a 2 year starter at corner

He's gotta get that speed back. As of now, otherwise, safety would be his best position. If he's at last year's speed, he needs to get passed on the depth chart. We have too much young talent to wait on him to fully recover.

Yea, I just don't get that. I understand the whole trust thing, but it was clear pretty early on that Eddie flat out could not run with fast receivers. And we just kept on throwing him out there to get run past. I mean, I don't care how smart you are, if you can't run with a guy you can't run with him. Somebody has to just make the decision to make a change.

All great points, but I'm sorry.....I just don't think Bradley Sylve has what it takes to play here. The WV game was BRUTAL!

He was playing against a WR who might get drafted higher than Cooper. He was in really good position on a few of those catches. Sylve played better against WVU than EJ played against auburn.

Yeah, sylve kinda got boned. Nobody knew that white on wv was the second best wr in the country. He played well on the few other opportunities he got, seemed like him and cyrus were the only dbs who liked for the ball

Jackson is not the best talent at that position, period.

I have a feeling Jackson gets passed this spring. Not to say EJ is not good and even if he comes back from injury 100% to 2013 form. But Brown in my opinion is better and will pass him this spring. I also expect to see MH get into packages as well as a regular.

The real battle will be in the S positions. I think Hootie steps up this spring and Harrison along with Thompson may both get reps in the fall.

I know we all saw EL get burned on several occasions, but our safety play over the top was horrible!!! Horrible I say!!!!

I agree that the coaches made a massive mistake by continuing to play Eddie when it was clear he couldn't run with fast guys. Sylve got beat in the WV game, but that was against the best WR in the nation not named Cooper, and he was in position most every single play he just couldn't get his head around to make a play on the ball. Eddie couldn't even keep up with guys like Duke, Coates, the OSU guys, etc. Why we didn't switch back to Sylve or even take our lumps with TB is just a true mystery to me.

Eddie should be moved to safety this spring, plain and simple unless he just gets a ton of speed back. We have too many young talented guys at corner who can FLY to watch Eddie get roasted for another season. We need our best 5 guys on the field and that definitely includes Cyrus, TB and probably Hump. Make Eddie a safety and let him play beside Hootie/Geno Smith.
