Yea I don't really get the complaints. He's passing it well anyways. But I feel like we've wanted a team that could get yards on the ground at will, and now we are getting that. And I love it.

But Mississippi State is just happy to beat LSU. Right now, a lot of Alabama fans expect to win national titles.

That said, and as previously noted, I was encouraged by Hurts, particularly in the 3rd quarter yesterday. He was more patient in the pocket, checked down to secondary receivers a couple of times, threw some nice balls.

I do remember, though, what it was like just to be happy to beat LSU. It wasn't that long ago.

I hope no one is complaining about Hurts. He played efficient and turnover free. Yeah he struggled passing the ball vs FSU, but he was also running for his life in that game because of the offensive line.

And maybe it's me, but he looks fine throwing the ball. I don't want to say he's improving week-by-week yet, because CSU and Fresno State are lesser quality opponents. However, he has made some good throws, is explosive as a runner, and has NO TURNOVERS. Honestly, if he can just put a little more touch on deep balls, and try to stay in the pocket more, he's everything we have asked for in a QB. He has got to stop dropping back so much and rolling out right into the rush. Step into the pocket and make the throw.

This defense though

And it is not like Tua is ready.

One day he will be, just not anytime soon.

He is throwing the ball well, I have seen one really bad throw last week when he hung a deep ball up and the safety should have picked it. Other than that even when he misses the receiver is the only one with a shot. A lot of his runs are by design. I think this offense is starting to gel.

Defensively yesterday was a train wreck. We got up 17 and the intensity went poof, and we could not get it back. I think we get Evans and maybe Anfernee Jennings back this week, hopefully Moses too. Late in the year maybe Christian Miller and this can only help, the LB play this weekend was putrid.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Tua is never "the" guy. I'm just not sold on him yet.

Geeze. He's played, what, 30 snaps or so, and mostly with the other subs. He's a freshman, same as Hurts was last year, and we're still giving him lots of leeway for being young. Tua hasn't yet turned it over either. Yesterday, I think he threw 4 passes, and 2 were in the hands of the receiver (one dropped, initially called a fumble). I think he was 6 of 9, with a td, vs Frenso St. He wears crimson and white, too.

That's a horrible comparison. Fitzgerald can fling it and run. His playing style is nothing like Hurts. Plus their fans get excited about a 7-5 season.

This feels like a thread from the Shula-era.

A little advice brother: you can make a point without getting angry and talking to fellow fans like that and we should never aspire to be like State fans. Roll Tide anyway and you are right. A few of us need to be more patient with our quarterback and recognize that he is an elite playmaker and knows where the endzone is. I am starting to love me some Jalen Hurts.
