Do we appreciate the duo of Reed and Robinson enough?

These two monsters. They're the best set of tackles (spare the semantics, they play tackle most of the time) I've ever seen paired together in college. Hopefully we can win out, and these two will go down in Alabama folklore as the inside version of Curry and Copeland. The way they shut down the running game in between the tackles is a sight to behold. Back takes the handoff. Back gets to the line. Back gets no further. That's how it seems like 90% of rushing attempts go against us between the tackles

They force the outside game like I've never seen before.

They are unbelievable. I expected big things from Robinson, but both Reed and Allen have really impressed me. Combine that with Tim Williams and Rashaan Evans showing out, Ragland being Rolando McClain 2.0 (with less baggage), and our secondary playing lockdown like it's 2011, this has the potential to be a very special season for us.

Two first round picks, plus another playing behind them in Reggie Ragland. This is the best run stopping duo of interior DL I can remember seeing in CFB. Beyond that, they do a tremendous job of pushing the pocket on pass plays.

On top of that, Johnathan Allen gets good pressure on the QB for a big man.

We all agree that they are playing like first rounders. Most would agree the duo is the best in the country. They get the love.

I am amazed every game at how Reed can just stick an arm out and stop a RB at full speed with just one arm. Dude is a beast.

Allen is very athletic. Remember he was a 5 star OLB when he signed. I'd like to think he could get first round talk as well sooner or later, but we'll see.

Yep. I don't know if anyone watched the pre game show on SECN last weekend, but Marcus Spears talked about how "the triangle" is the most important aspect of stopping the run. The two tackles and the middle linebacker. We've got three first rounders in the triangle. It's why I'm really not that worried about slowing down Fournette. Chubb couldn't do anything against this group.

Is he the best player in the country? Yea he probably is. He'll see the best defense in the country in 3 weeks though, so forgive me if I'm not shaking in my boots

Guessing you weren't around for the Copeland-Curry era.

I had high hopes when Reed and Ragland announced they were returning to team up with Robinson and the others for another run at a championship. I will say that I expected a dominant defense, but have been pleasantly surprised by the consistency up front.

Speaking of the title, all the 3rd year players who could leave after this season (and Reed as he is a Senior but came from JUCO) need to win it this year or they run the risk of coming and going without a title.

I love our front 7 this year. Reed and Robinson are monsters inside. That said, Allen has had the biggest year of all of them, he's been an absolute animal. Robinson with no sacks and only 1.5 TFL has been slightly disappointing, but I still wouldn't trade our guys for anyone. Tomilson has also had a nice season, should be a starter in 2016. Need to see more of Tim Williams too.

I wouldn't say it is disappointing, that implies he isn't playing well. He is, I can't take my eyes off our DL.

Yeah, don't get me wrong 86 is a great payer. I guess after his freshman season when he had like 5-6 sacks as a back-up I just expected a little more dominance from him. He has been very solid, but he isn't blowing up into the backfield stuffing runs, coming off blocks getting sacks, etc. Again, great player just expected a few more big plays from him. Maybe he turns it on the back half of the season.

Last season through 14 games he had 4 QBH so far through 7 this year he has a team leading 7 QBH. So he's doing better in the pass rush aspect. Also since him and Reed often require double teams that leaves one on one opportunities for the other guys like Allen.
