Or as Verne would say, Orlando McCain.
One of my all-time favorite Bama players. Would love for things to work out for him.

I'm not even sure he tried to make any. I've given up on him

Probably on an incarceration list in Madison County.

I am on my phone so I can't link it; but there is an article in which Rolando says that leaving Alabama his junior year was the worst decision he ever made. He describes his years at Alabama as the best of his life and Saban as the most influential mentor in his life.
He describes leaving the NFL the first go-round and returning to Tuscaloosa, working with the team and getting his shite straight.
It's and awesome read - google it - wish he could have gotten it all worked out.

He was our best player in 2009, but I lost any respect I had for him after having a class with him.

Just your typical thug. His constant trouble with the law is the least surprising thing ever.

Okay, so I read your post and I texted my cousin that was in school with Rolando and she said that she had an Econ class with him. He was very nice; didn't cause trouble. As far as she remembers, he was pretty much well liked on campus. Some football players were not, and Rolando wasn't one of them.
Interestingly, she said that one of out cousins ( keep in mind these two are children of my 1st cousins once removed) was in a Mississippi rehab facility w him last fall. Well, he thinks it was him. Said he looked familiar (we was a capstone grad as well) and was recently dismissed from an an NFL team. I don't know him that well and we've never discussed his rehabbing so this was news to me.
That really isn't much of a coincidence considering I probably have 431 cousins spread out among the Southeast.
ETA I just Ra'd my own post - not sure I should have brought up the rehab thing.
I only mentioned it to support him getting his act together, but prolly should have left that out. And again, not sure it was him.

I always wonder how much better our defense would have been had he come back for his senior year. The secondary was definitely in a rebuild mode, but I doubt the mentality of the team would have been the way it was with his leadership.

Then he must have really not given a frick about geology in the summer of 2009. Got kicked out of class multiple times, constantly caused trouble, cussing out the 80 year old teacher, etc.
Probably half of the football team was in that class. I really didn't have a problem with anyone else, although Preston Dial is one of the dumbest people I've ever spoken to.

I was at one of these Crimson Caravans in Dallas a couple of years back. Saban, Avery Johnson, Dana Duckworth, and all the UA brass were there. It was MC'd by Eli and McElroy. Tons of local celebs like Lee Roy Jordan and other players. It was a pretty big deal for the team and school as they recruit students heavily in DFW.
Ro was one of the featured guys and it was heavily advertised as such. Tons of kids in McClain Cowboy jerseys with pictures, balls, etc. waiting to meet him and get a pic or autograph. It was a sitdown banquet for the University with Saban and he was expected to be there.
The fricktard never bothered to show....completely blew it off and left Eli and McElroy in lurch making excuses as he was supposed to be there at an allotted time. He blew off the event and Saban....his coach who vouched for him to Jones and Jason Garrett and helped him get another contract.
frick Rolando McClain. He is dead to me.

Why does Bama have 80 year old teachers?
By the way, I was pulling for Rolando to turn his life around, but this last time, I completely gave up on him.

I had a pretty old prof. Dude was a retired FBI agent. He was badass.

Wow. If all that is accurate (I'm not doubting you) then yeah. Frick him.
