I'm just sitting in my office with the door closed in an endless stream of Audioslave, Temple of the Dog and Soundgarden songs getting sadder and sadder.

Chris Cornell and Soundgarden played one of their last shows at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheatre. This thread is now related to Alabama.

Me too. It really sucks. He is one of my all time favorites. I wonder what pushed him over the edge?

He's got some good songs, but I've never been able to listen to more than 2 in a row before getting tired of them.

Kinda hard to register that he's gone. Guy was an amazing vocalist, and definitely talented guitarist. Grew up listening to SuperUnknown on CD and trying to sing in his range.

Was wondering the same thing. He seemed like a pretty level headed guy.

I saw Soundgarden a couple of times...they always delivered.

Lost Scott Weiland and Cornell in the last few years.

I saw them 2 weeks ago at The Fox. He was as normal, interesting and fun as always.

My only thought it that perhaps he had secretly fallen off the wagon or something. Other than that, very strange that he could keep such massive issues totally internal to the point of suicide.

If something happens to Eddie soon I may have a breakdown.

I just have a difficult time believing he would kill himself. He met with fans after the show and talk about seeing them at his next concert less than an hour before he was found.

The only thing that makes sense is, that he used drugs and then went nuts and hung himself. I have a hard time believing this was planned

Yea. Saw the Pilots in his last sober stretch in Birmingham my senior year at Alabama.

He was dressed like Poncho Villa and just stood on an amp the whole show singing. It was pretty great.

Same here. And I was in college when grunge got popular, so that era is pretty significant in my life. Soundgarden just never did much for me. I enjoyed them, but I definitely listened to Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Alice In Chains more.

Grunge was just never that big in my circles. I don't think I ever heard any friends talk about Chris Cornell until a day or two ago.

True, but still sad to see. Plush was one of the first songs I learned on guitar.
