That's the thing. I think they were just as loud as UF and Florida had more fans there.

Ok? But that's not saying much. We've been in much louder environments this year and didn't have those problems. Overall, the UW fans weren't particularly loud because there weren't many of them. Yes, they were loud for their size, but not loud enough to cause problems.

We've played @ Ole Miss, LSU, Tennessee, and Arkansas. All of those places are much louder than 12k Washington fans.

Sound in a dome is trapped and reverberated.

Any game where you have two delays of game, you have to look at crowd noise as a factor. It seemed that the team had some difficulty at times hearing Hurts.

Not as much in a place with a tarp ceiling like Atlanta. So their 15k total fans sounded more like 25k. It's still not enough to disrupt a team that regularly plays in louder environments.

We have a large older sect of fans (60+) that by in large are very complacent/unenthusiastic fans. They show up to games & contribute, but do not get into the gam

I always sit in the upper deck and I don't really cheer much. Noise from the upper deck doesn't really make it to the field. 80-85% of the noise comes from the lower bowl.

Did anyone go to the 2008 Clemson game at the Georgia Dome? Bama fans filled up their half of the stadium two hours before kickoff. We were hungry and itching to get that game started. Meanwhile the Clemson side was completely empty until right at kickoff. It was awesome to see.

8 years later, the roles were reversed. 4 Titles later, we are just in a different place than other fanbases. The number of Clemson fans in Tampa was simply mindboggling. That explains why the ticket market was so small this time and that there were literally no tickets for sale outside the stadium.
