Clemson was built by Bama. Without Alabama, Clemson would be nothing.
Frank Howard HOF head coach & AD - brought them Howard's Rock and their field is named after him. He was an Alabama football player.
He coached for 30 years at Clemson, gave them 2 undefeated seasons, 2 Southern Championship & 6 ACC championships. He was their Bear Bryant.
Hootie Ingram, head coach - although he had a losing record, he is notable for having introduced the trademark "tiger paw" logo to Clemson. He was an Alabama football player.
Charlie Pell, head coach - helped Clemson win their first Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) championship in 11 years, and compiled an 18–4–1 record. He also recruited many of the players who helped lead the Tigers to the national championship in 1981. He was an Alabama football player.
He left to coach Florida, but it emerged that Pell and his staff had committed major NCAA infractions in player recruiting, for which the NCAA placed the Clemson football program on two years' probation under the next coach's tenure......
Danny Ford, head coach - Clemson's only national championship coach. During his 12 seasons as head coach of the Clemson Tigers, he captured 5 ACC titles and won 6 bowl games. Ford's 1981 Clemson team completed a 12–0 season with a win in the Orange Bowl and was named the consensus national champion. He was an Alabama football player.
Dabo Swinney, current head coach - became head coach after longtime & Alabama born head coach Tommy Bowden retired. Clemson has steadily gotten better under Dabo, up to the point of playing for a national championship in the CFP in which Alabama won this past year. Clemson has won 2 ACC titles under Swinney. He was an Alabama player.
