FYI on Peterson. Apparently he battling a sports hernia and that's why snaps were limited. Still was a blur off the edge. Reminds me some of Ryan Anderson coming out of high school

Told KN AL still #1. AU #2. Now says he's closest to Pruitt. Used to be T-Will. Honestly surprised hasn't committed yet

Here's a look at how Alabama's commitments fared in Week 1:

Cameron Latu, DE, Salt Lake City (Utah) Olympus
-- The Titans defeated Cottonwood 45-7 on Friday night moving to 1-0. Full defensive stats have not yet been provided, however, the four-star defensive end accounted for at least two sacks and caught a three-yard touchdown pass in the win. You can watch a replay of the game, courtesy of the Deseret News, here.

Quay Walker, LB, Cordele (Ga.) Crisp County -- In Cougars head coach Brad Harber's debut, Crisp County defeated Dooly County on the road by the score of 40-18. Walker racked up 10 tackles, including six solo, and four assisted.

Jordan Davis, LB, Memphis (Tenn.) Southwind -- The Jaguars moved to 1-0 on the season shutting out Fairley 34-0. Davis had seven tackles, a sack, and one pass breakup in the victory. Check out the highlights here.

Skyler DeLong, P, Fort Mill (S.C.) Nation Ford -- The Falcons fell to 0-1 losing 28-16 on the road at Irmo. DeLong averaged 46 yards per punt inside the 10-yard line.

I don't know how legit it is but starting to see some AU chatter with Asa. FWIW JLee says apparently Martin's mind has changed from Bama to AU according to 2 sources recently.

Interesting.

KN is leaning AU right now too. Apparently coaches really like our chances

I am still thinking Bama. Seen this act far too many times to get excited before it happens. Will be interesting to see what news trickles out this week

Did you know Austin has another 2018 RB that rushed for over 1,500 yards last year?

I think Daboll will be the deciding factor in Martin's recruitment.

We will see. Supposedly he's super close with Lindsey as well and that's who has helped AU make the big late push. He's been Lindsey's top target since he arrived as OC. I still think he picks Bama tho

Alabama target Vernon Jackson, a three-star athlete from Boling (Texas), will make his college commitment on Saturday, Aug. 26 at 1 p.m. CT in his high school auditorium, Bulldogs head coach Kevin Urbanek tells BamaOnLine.

The 6-foot-3, 240-pound do-it-all prosper will be choosing between Alabama, TCU, and Texas A&M.

Currently, it's the Crimson Tide trending at 100 percent on the Crystal Ball.

“(Nick Saban) told me that I could play a couple different positions on the team, and whichever one I wanted to play is the one I would play,” Jackson recently told BOL. “He said he felt comfortable letting me play what I want to play.”

It's quarterback that Jackson plays at Boling. Last season, Jackson rushed for 2,072 yards and 33 touchdowns, guiding the Bulldogs to the Class 3A state title game. It's the defensive side of the ball (ILB/OLB) he projects to should he commit to Alabama. However, running back/H-back has been discussed.

Of his other two finalists, Jackson told BOL that he speaks with the Texas A&M staff almost every day. For a while, the Aggies were the favorite on the Crystal Ball. As far as TCU, it's Horned Frogs assistant Zarnell Fitch who Jackson says he has the closest relationship with.

Jackson is rated the No. 26 athlete and the No. 457 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.

ABC13 in Houston will livestream the ceremony.

Any concern Alabama fans have about where their recruiting class ranks in 2018 will be happy to learn that their 2019 group currently ranks No. 8 in the country, per the 247Sports Team Rankings.

Here, BamaOnLine takes a look at several recruits trending to, or with predictions for, the Crimson Tide in the '19 cycle.

DT Ishmael Sopsher

Alabama has long been after the nation's No. 1 defensive tackle from Amite (La.). Tide assistant Karl Dunbar has already built a good relationship with the elite lineman on multiple visits to Tuscaloosa. UA signed Devonta Smith out of Amite in 2017, and held a commitment from Amite safety Joshua Perry in the 2016 class.

OG Clay Webb

It'll likely be Alabama or Auburn for the state's top player in the cycle -- those are the two Webb has said he likes most. Sources familiar with the recruitment feel the 6-foot-3, 297-pounder is Alabama's to lose.

LB King Mwikuta

The Tide considers Mwikuta a priority on defense in the 2019 cycle. It's Alabama that leads, too, ahead of Georgia. The four-star 'backer last visited for the Champions Cookout.

OG Evan Neal

Neal pulled the trigger on the Tide in the spring of 2016 shortly after receiving an offer. He backed off his pledge a week or so later after realizing it was too early to be making any final decisions. There hasn't been much buzz around Neal and Alabama since, however, the 6-foot-7, 378-pounder is still one to watch.
