Justyn Ross, 4-star WR, Phenix City (Ala.) Central -- Rated the No. 1 player in the state

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Ross is atop many programs' wishlist, primarily Alabama and Auburn. Rated the No. 4 receiver and the No. 31 overall player in the country, Ross is currently trending to AU on the 247Sports Crystal Ball at 83 percent, followed by Alabama at 17 percent. Ross is a former teammate of Tide linebacker signee Markail Benton. The four-star wideout has been to Tuscaloosa numerous times, and will return both this spring and summer. He's waiting to make a decision until his mother returns from deployment.

Jalyn Armour-Davis, 4-star CB, Mobile (Ala.) St. Paul's Episcopal -- Rated the No. 2 player in the state

The South Alabama product is another highly sought after recruit from St. Paul's Episcopal. The No. 13 cornerback in the country, Armour-Davis was in T-Town this fall for the Texas A&M game, giving the visit a glowing review. Auburn is the Crystal Ball favorite, but should the Tide press for the Top100 corner's services, the race for the Armour-Davis' signature could get interesting.

Jack West, 4-star QB, Saraland (Ala.) -- Stanford commit -- Rated the No. 3 player in the state

At one point in his recruitment, most would have been shocked if West ended up anywhere other than Alabama for his college career. That was before the nation's No. 6 pro-style quarterback committed to Stanford last July. The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder appears firm in his commitment, and it's not clear how much the Crimson Tide has pursued the in-state signal caller since his pledge to the Cardinal. Alabama's most recent offers at the quarterback position have gone out to dual-threats.

Seth Williams, 4-star WR, Cottondale (Ala.) Paul W. Bryant -- Rated the No. 4 player in the state

Williams is the highest-ranked recruit in the state actually trending to Alabama. The 6-foot-3, 202-pounder has seen his recruitment take flight in the last year, earning a number of Power 5 offers. The hometown wideout originally planned to make a commitment last month between Alabama, Auburn Florida, Florida State and Georgia, before deciding to hold off. His coach told BamaOnLine recently that Williams will likely take all of his official visits before announcing his destination. Williams is rated the No. 23 receiver in the country.

Tank Jenkins, 4-star OG, Montgomery (Ala.) Park Crossing -- Rated the No. 5 player in the state

Jenkins is another top in-state prospect that has yet to receive an offer from Alabama. The staff continues to evaluate the four-star guard who is currently trending to Auburn at 80 percent. Alabama signed a deep class at the offensive line position in 2017, so it's not clear how many guys they'll fervently pursue this go-around. If the 6-foot-3, 325-pound Jenkins shows out and in the spring or at camp, however, and gets an offer, Alabama would certainly be a top contender. Jenkins is rated the No. 11 guard in the nation.

Myles Mason, 4-star S, Pleasant Grove (Ala.) -- Rated the No. 6 player in the state

Alabama has been the public leader for Mason for well over a year since he earned an offer in August of 2015. The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder can also player receiver. Other programs like Auburn and Florida State have offered, but it's the Crimson Tide that's the 100 percent Crystal Ball favorite for the nation's No. 18 safety and No. 212 overall player.

Asa Martin, 4-star RB, Decatur (Ala.) Austin -- Rated the No. 7 player in the state

Another prospect Alabama has yet to pull the trigger on with an offer, Martin is back at Decatur Austin after a stint at IMG Academy in Florida. Auburn offered earlier this month, along with Florida. After signing two highly-rated backs in 2017, and already holding a commitment from one four-star ball carrier in Dameon Pierce, it's not clear how hard the Tide will pursue other backs in the class. The staff has recently extended an offer to four-star RB Tavion Thomas in Ohio and is after the nation's top ball carrier in Zamir White, so an eventual offer to Martin would not be a surprise. The No. 10 running back in the country has visited Tuscaloosa in the past. He's currently trending to Auburn at 67 percent on the Crystal Ball.

Coynis Miller, 4-star DT, Birmingham (Ala.) Jackson-Olin -- Rated the No. 8 player in the state

It's trending towards a classic Iron Bowl battle for Miller's signature. Alabama offered last summer around the same time as Auburn, leading to a current Crystal Ball coin flip between the two programs. The 6-foot-4, 270-pound Coynis has said recently he's most familiar with both in-state schools, but he wouldn't necessarily call them favorites. Offensive line coach Brent Key is working on building a relationship with Miller after his former area recruiter Mario Cristobal left for Oregon. One tie the Birmingham product has to the Tigers is former teammate and Auburn signee Tadarian Moultry. Miller is rated the No. 24 defensive tackle in the country.

Alfred Thomas, 4-star DE, Montgomery (Ala.) Lanier -- Rated the No. 9 player in the state

Thomas is another prospect that's been to Alabama multiple times, but has still yet to receive an offer. Perhaps a strong camp performance this summer will change that, as we've seen in the past with guys like Neil Farrell. The 6-foot-1, 269-pounder is rated the No. 25 defensive tackle in the country. He's currently trending to Auburn at 100 percent.

Nathaniel Watson, 4-star ATH, Maplesville (Ala.) -- Rated the No. 10 player in the state

Watson is a newly-rated prospect, and one of the top names to know in the state for 2018. Alabama got the 6-foot-3, 200-pounder on campus for Junior Day last month, but has yet to offer. That could soon change should the staff continue to like what they see. Auburn, Mississippi State and Ole Miss have already thrown their hats into the ring. Watson is rated the No. 22 athlete in the country. Auburn is the Crystal Ball favorite at 100 percent.

Just what TI and others are saying. Sounds likely at this point. Would be a really good addition to assist with our QBs development.

Thanks. Yes, it sure would. Coach Daboll is good at teaching QBs about reading defenses, progressions, timing, etc., according to some pro QBs he's coached, but not so much for QB mechanics, accuracy, etc. Based on what I've read about Dan Werner he appears to be a legit "QB whisperer."

Well, if you can turn Bo Wallace into a pretty good QB (by his senior year), you must know what you're doing.

What to watch for?

Several more offers will be handed out to prospects who will be there but may not be on this list. This is also a prime weekend for a commit or two, so stay tuned.

Alabama’s jam-packed junior day visitors list highlighted by top 3 player and 4 elite prospects committed elsewhere | SEC Country
quote:

Big visit weekend for Alabama

Thirty-eight recruits who are currently ranked in the 247Sports Composite are expected to be in Tuscaloosa this weekend for one of Alabama’s junior day events. Along with those 38 top prospects are players who could potentially add offers and see their recruitment take off this spring or summer after attending various camps.

The biggest name expected to attend is 5-star running back Zamir White, who we wrote about twice this week — here and here. White is the truth. There’s nothing more that can be said about his talent. Alabama has a running back committed in the Class of 2018 in 4-star prospect Dameon Pierce, but the Crimson Tide would not hesitate to take White, too.

In addition to White, priority targets in the Class of 2018 who are expected to attend include: Justyn Ross, who is the state of Alabama’s No. 1 player; 4-star WR Seth Williams;  4-star S Myles Mason,; 4-star DT Coynis Miller; 4-star LB Teradja Mitchell; 4-star LB Quay Walker; 4-star CB Jalyn Armour-Davis; 4-star DE Justin Mascoll; 4-star DT Robert Cooper; 4-star JACK Brenton Cox; 3-star RB Tavion Thomas, 3-star OLB Andres Fox; 3-star TE Judge Culpepper and 3-star DT Jalen Cunningham.

These junior days usually net at least one commitment. Cunningham is one to watch. Alabama leads for him, but he says he wants to take his recruitment into his senior season.

Alabama has led since the ninth grade for Mason. It’s possible he pulls the trigger this weekend.

Then there are the recruits who don’t currently hold an offer who could decide to commit on the spot if given one. Pierce Quick, a 2019 offensive tackle, is a huge Alabama fan. I can’t see him going elsewhere if the staff prioritizes him.

Note: The following is not an official list of who will actually be in attendance. Recruits change their minds on where they want to visit, can’t find rides and just cancel sometimes. But the following players are who Alabama is expecting to be on campus this weekend:

Made a 247Sports Crystal Ball forecast in favor of Alabama for Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy defensive end Eyabi Anoma.

The nation's No. 3 weak-side defensive end per 247Sports is also high on Penn State, Michigan and Maryland among others.

Anoma's recruitment is headed up by Mike Locksley but Tosh Lupoi has also been involved early in the 2018 cycle.

The 6-foot-5, 230-pound Anoma ranks as the nation's No. 75 recruit overall.
