I'm all for taking both Tyson and Taulia from a talent standpoint, especially if we don't take a QB this year.

I would hate, in a year with limited numbers, to give a scholarship to a QB that's an eventual transfer. However, all we have on campus is a true Sophomore (who runs as much as he passes) and two true freshmen. I don't know if we can afford to not take a QB this year unless we're convinced that all three of our current QBs are competent AND happy (low transfer risk).

If either freshman decides to transfer, we'd be left with two scholarship QBs next year (at least one of whick takes a lot of hits (even against bad teams)). Hurts probably doesn't leave early (hopefully) but that would mean 19 would be one (likely unproven) veteran QB and 2 true freshman.

I think you always have to bite the bullet and take 1, I've been that way since many wanted to skip taking one to appeal to Jacob Eason.

You never know what can happen. Maybe you never want this prospect to start, but you don't want to be caught with a bare cupboard either.

Unless you have hella faith in a walkon...

To be fair, I was right about Barnett being shitty.

It appears Eason may be just as shitty too.

So Hank South did one of those Crystal Ball Love it, Like it, Leave it articles this morning. It's one of those slideshows that you can't copy and paste from so I'll just paraphrase. I'll put the recruits name first, then where Hank has him CB'd to and then how he feels about it.

Jaylen Waddle
- Alabama - Love It

Nadab Joseph - Alabama - Love It

Tyson Campbell - Alabama - Love It

Dominick Wood-Anderson - Alabama - Like It

Eyabi Anoma - Alabama - Love It

Justyn Ross - Alabama - Like It

Luke Ford - Alabama - Love It

Senei Pewell - Alabama - Like It (he loved it in June)

Bobby Brown - Alabama - Love It

JJ Peterson - Alabama - Love It

Jalen Cunningham - Alabama - Like It

Coynis Miller - Alabama - Like It

Myles Mason - Alabama - Leave It

I assumed he would have predicted at least one kid to another school.

Well this is interesting:

quote:

LSU recently hosted Georgia's Justin Fields for an official visit, and it seemed to have gone well by all accounts.

Just how well has yet to be determined, but five-star Georgia commit Jadon Haselwood told DawgNation.com that Fields told him "it is [between] us and LSU," referring to the Georgia Bulldogs and the nation's No. 1 ranked quarterback Justin Fields.

This would certainly be an interesting development, as most analyst considered Florida State and even Auburn to be bigger threats to the Bulldogs, his home-state school, than LSU. However, the Tigers have been in constant contact with Fields, who decommitted to Penn State in June, and have been slowly positioning themselves as a legitimate player for his services.

LSU has yet to land a quarterback in the 2018 class, although they have made up considerable ground with Fields and TCU commitment Justin Rogers.

I guess Fields missed the explosive LSU offense on Saturday night.

Jacob Copeland still considering Alabama

Jacob Copeland, a 4-star wide receiver from Escambia High School (Pensacola, Fla.), wasn’t expected in Tuscaloosa over the weekend for Alabama’s game against Colorado State, but there he was on the Tide’s sideline wearing a crimson-colored visor to support the team.

Copeland, the nation’s No. 7 wide receiver in the 2018 class, committed to Florida over Alabama in an SEC Country exclusive video back in August. Copeland told SEC Country on Monday night that he hasn’t completely shut down his recruitment.

“Always gotta leave your options open,” Copeland said. “You never know what could happen at any given moment.”

What does that exactly mean? Well, he has some concerns with how Florida’s offense has looked so far in its first two games. He mentioned how the Gators have struggled to score and the quarterback play being “wishy-washy.”

“All I can do is wait out the season and go from there,” Copeland said. “I committed to UF because they were there first and stayed with me. But, at the same time, I got to do what’s best for me at the end of the day. I haven’t lost interest in ‘Bama. That’s why I made my way down [there].”

The Under Armour All-American said the entire Alabama staff is hitting him up on a daily basis. He also said he talks to coach Nick Saban frequently, too.

When Copeland committed to Florida, I said that his recruitment would not be over. He’s just a kid who likes going on visits and the attention that comes with being one of the nation’s best 50 high school football players.

I don’t think he’ll change his commitment from Florida, but his recruitment should definitely be closely watched because of how bad Florida’s offense has looked. Florida is currently ranked 122nd out of 130 FBS schools in total offense. The team also has more defensive touchdowns than passing touchdowns in its two games. That’s not ideal for a top receiver.

It’s also interesting how Copeland visited Tuscaloosa for the Colorado State game instead of Gainesville for Florida’s game against one of its biggest rivals in Tennessee. The Gators had a lot of their top targets on campus for one of their biggest recruiting weekends of the season.

Copeland is one of Alabama’s top slot receiver targets along with Jaylen Waddle and Justin Watkins.

What to make of Alabama’s latest Class of 2018 offer

I didn’t touch on this in my notebook on Monday, but Alabama offered Miami tight end commitment Brevin Jordan on Sunday night.

Jordan, the nation’s No. 3 tight end from Bishop Gorman High School (Las Vegas), has been committed to the Hurricanes since April and has shown zero signs of wavering on his commitment.

So, why the offer? Well, Jordan has started off his senior season on a high note. In four games so far, Jordan has 22 receptions, 349 yards and 3 touchdowns. The offer was extended by outside linebackers coach Tosh Lupoi.

Jordan told Adam Gorney of Rivals.com that he’s locked in with Miami.

“It’s Tight End U., it’s in paradise and the GOAT coach in [Mark] Richt,” Jordan said. “Simple as that.”

I have never heard anyone say Richt is the greatest coach ever. That’s a new one. Maybe the greatest coach in failing to meet expectations, but that’s about it.

Alabama fans shouldn’t expect a flip from Jordan, even with Miami having two of the nation’s top tight ends committed there in Jordan and 4-star prospect Will Mallory, who the Tide staff is high on, too.

For now, Crimson Tide fans should keep an eye on 4-star prospect Luke Ford, who has Alabama as his leader. The coaching staff is also still recruiting Texas tight end commitment Dominick Wood-Anderson, along with 3-star prospects Michael Parker and Glenn Beal.

Richt is the GOAT?

Official visit set

Five-star defensive end K.J. Henry (Clemmons, N.C.) will take an official visit to Georgia this weekend. Earlier this month, he was in Clemson unofficially for the Auburn game.

Alabama, South Carolina and Virginia Tech are also in the mix for him.

Paul Tyson's highlights against Grissom

ETA: He appears to be more athletic than I previously thought. He looks good on his roll outs. He isn't lead footed at all.

Wow. For those of you that haven't watched the Amari Kight highlights that Saint posted a couple messages above, do it. They need to switch Pierce Quick's rating with Kight's. Kight is a 5* guy (I know Quick isn't quite rated 5*, but he's rated a good bit higher than Kight). Quick is good, but not as good as what you're seeing in this video.

They countered, but accepted most of what we asked for. We countered back.

My wife is pissed at me for not taking it. I told her if they declined we would take their initial offer.

So it looks like I'll be living in Prattville with a pool.

I'm happy about it. We initially wanted to be there, but expanded our search to Wetumpka and then to Holtville when we couldn't find what we wanted.

We got lucky with this house because I saw it every day on Zillow and always passed by it because the cover photo (and almost all of the other photos) didn't look very good. Turns out the sellers just had a crappy realtor who didn't know how to take photos worth a damn. Our realtor walked through it yesterday on Skype with us and we were blown away. The master bedroom has 3 closets and a huge, floor to ceiling tiled shower and they didn't even mention it. They also didn't mention in the listing that there was an additional bathroom off the back of the house near the pool. They just left it off.

ETA: So we were expecting 3 full bathrooms and saw them when our realtor was in the house. She walks outside to show us the pool area and notices a door on the right side of the house so she walked over to it. She opens it and there is a half bath in there with shelving for towels and stuff. She couldn't believe the listing agent didn't put that on the listing sheet. I'm glad they didn't because if they had done it right this house would not have been on the market as long as it was.

Congratulations brother - good things.

When can we all come over and go swimming (or probably more appropriate - when can't we).

I just can't get on board with the 2018 class having only one kid from in-State. I know it's a weak class, but there are still some headliners.
