AFCA executive director Todd Berry said the coaching community is ready to take a step toward multiple early signing days and FBS coaches are "unanimously in favor of a mid-December signing period." The current proposal calls for June and December signing periods... Berry said there was "zero support" from the FBS head coaches and "coaches on all levels" for the proposed June early signing period...
Berry said a "high majority" of FBS coaches are in favor of the IAWP legislation in the recruiting reform package that would prohibit individuals associated with prospects from being hired for non-coaching positions like recruiting operations or analyst jobs.
Berry said FBS coaches are unanimously in favor of having a 10th coach added to the staff. The additional coach proposal is also a part of the NCAA Division I 2016-16 package, which is largely made up of proposals to change the recruting model.
Berry said FBS coaches are "collectively not in favor of adjusting the official visitor calendar." Proposed reform would allow for recruits to take official visits in June and July before the start of their senior season.
