Don't know why we would go back to big linebackers. Not a big fan of that. We get torched with big linebackers.

He's about Ronnie Harrison size, he's not Hightower size. Plus he's being recruited at Safety.

He'd be a small LB. Big safety. But you sort of need to have both nowadays. Offenses are so diverse and so far ahead of the defenses now that you'd better be able to handle both the Spread teams AND the Arkansas and L5U and Uga type teams. Basically, you'd better be good at everything defensively, have depth, and not have many recruiting mis-evaluations. Top-notch defensive coordinators really earn their pay these days.

We got a CB for DT Aubrey Solomon from one of the AJC writers. Solomon is from Georgia.

A DT class of Solomon and Marvin Wilson would be nice.

Don't count out Shelvin and/or Buggs as well.

So....you're saying you wouldn't want Mark Barron in our secondary because he's big?

Is it the 220 Barron or the one that made that diving tip vs Miss St that year. Even CNS said we are better with the smaller safeties who cover more ground due to the spread offenses. Yea we give up tackling but with our front 7 not to many teams will run on us anyway.

Ronnie Harrison is 6'3" 218 and covers well, but obviously not all guys of his size are good cover Safeties.

Either way. Lol. I'd rather have Barron at whatever weight than just about every safety we've had. He was elite regardless of size

I'd much rather have Clinton-Dix or Rashad Johnson.

Alabama extended another offer in Pennsylvania on Monday, this one to four-star cornerback Lamont Wade out of Clairton High, according to 247Sports National Recruiting Insider Ryan Bartow.

The 2017 Top100 prospect adds the offer to a hefty list that includes Ohio State, Penn State and Tennessee.

Currently it's the Buckeyes that lead the 247Sports Crystal Ball for Wade at 78 percent.

Standing at 5-foot-9, 185 pounds, Wade is rated the No. 5 cornerback and the No. 37 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.

Kiffin visited 5-star Athlete JaCoby Stevens out of Tennessee this past week and apparently made a big impression on him.

Not sure why we didn't jump on Stevens a little earlier.

Elliot Baker out of the City College of San Francisco has been blowing up of late. Despite failing to land a Division I offer as a high school senior, the 6-7, 295-pounder has added the likes of Auburn, Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi State over the past few weeks only one year into his junior college career. He's now ranked as a four-star on 247Sports with a 95 grade and currently, he's the top rated junior college prospect in the country.

The size and athleticism for Baker are rare. Despite his 6-foot-7 frame, Baker shows nimble feet, quickness and even downfield speed as a second and third level blocker. He will be able to be a force as a pass protector because of that agility. He's still raw though and he plays strictly out of a two-point stance. His ability to be a physical point-of-attack lineman that can play with leverage in the run game is going to be what determines his success as he graduates to Power 5 football.

Already with an official visit to Mississippi State under his belt, Baker also plans to visit Auburn officially soon. Currently Alabama holds the lone Crystal Ball prediction.

Probably because Kiffin was too busy jumping on Auburn co-eds.
