Is his father related to Alex Collins' mother?

His other cousin is committed to Syracuse as well and seems his father is pushing all his players there. But the weird part is that his father has a twitter and pumps info out for Mountain Island HS football and for both of his nephews and says nothing about his own son who was suppose to be transferring there which at the beginning of August many of the prep sites in NC were talking about the thunder/lightning duo at MIHS with both Robert and his cousin together.

Nah started to sound more like Otis the Pimp Yelverton who by the is coaching at Copiah-Lincoln now. MS is probably a great state for him to be in.

From Bleacher Report on BJ Emmons:

quote:

After suffering a tough loss in his team’s season opener last week, 4-star running back and current Alabama commit B.J. Emmons was determined to get back on track and lead Morganton, North Carolina's, Freedom High School to a win.

Consider his mission accomplished after he found the end zone a total of four times in the first half and accounted for 173 yards of total offense in leading Freedom to a 61-0 rout over Draughn, according to Tommy Fleming of the Morganton News Herald.

The 5’10”, 232-pound sledgehammer made quick work of the Wildcats defense. He rushed eight times for 125 yards—including scoring runs of 50, 23 and 18 yards. He added four receptions for 48 yards and another score.

He had a good game but another game with the box stacked to stop him. His QB seems pretty good and if they can get him to start opening the offense up BJ could have a monster year.

If the box was stacked to stop him and he had an > 15 yds/carry average, he really must be a one-man wrecking crew.

He is and loves to make contact. He plays like he wants to punish the tackler for trying. But that may be a negative for him as well because sometimes he could just avoid the tackle and use his speed to by but likes to make contact anyway.

He also played very little except maybe on D in the 2nd half. I got to talking and sort stopped watching at half time because the lead was so big.

From a guy on BOL who doesn't claim to be an "insider." He didn't seem to be an attention whore so I won't give him any grief.

quote:

My father-in-law lives in a very small town in NW Louisianna (Springhill), where nothing goes on. The one recent exception is Devin White - major RB/athlete and Bama recruit. My father-in-law is a Bama fan (almost unheard of up there) and recently met one of White's relatives. The woman told him that she thinks that Devin wants to go to Bama, and she expects him to end up there.

Alabama remains the team to beat for four-star Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage tight end Nick Eubanks, who said he plans on having his official visits set in the next few weeks. Eubanks said the Tide are pitching a similar role to that of current tight end O.J. Howard and that with the possibility of Howard leaving early for the NFL, early playing time is also a very real option. Eubanks said he also plans on visiting Florida soon, with LSU, Oregon and USC also in the mix for official visits.

Man, I hope he's right. In my opinion, we would trim him down to the 245-250 range and have him at his optimum playing size (just my opinion) for the RB position. He and Emmons would be a couple of sledgehammers to compliment Harris and Scarborough's speed.

White isn't slow. If he lost 15 pounds he'd probably run in the 4.4 range. Hell, he ran a laser timed 4.58 at 260 pounds.

True. I think he's kind of like Henry, though, with the speed being more of the straight ahead variety. But, a freak nonetheless. From what I've seen, I'd be happy with either White or Abdul Adams if we signed a 2nd RB. The Juco Thompson might even be a take, if he'd be willing to flip from UF.

BOL has some nuggets on a Big target and on the two that are committing Friday. Anybody know what they are saying?

It was Marlon Davidson and Elijah Holy field. Neither is expected to pick Bama.

Marques Bolden. Center from Texas. He's pretty close with Terrance Ferguson.

That would be an incredible pull. UK, Duke and KU have been after him hot and heavy. I might even have to throw out the $$ accusations at us if we land him. (G)
