Was it just me? Or did Cam newton jump away from his own fumble? In the 4th quarter? In the mothereffing SUPER BOWL?

I admit I thoroughly enjoyed his lack of composure at the end of the game. Denver made his arse quit.

The Cam I saw today wasn't the same Cam I saw all year. His demeanor was noticeably different from what I saw from him all year.

Jesus that Broncos D is for real. Seriously. Von Miller....Pay that man whatever the hell he wants. What a player. He was basically responsible for 14 points himself. insane. He was unstoppable against the best offense in the NFL.

Thought it looked like the ball was at his feet. Hard for a guy Newton's size to dive at the ball from that angle but I'd need to see it again.

Cam is great when he's winning and all the attention is on him. The Panthers scored an inordinate number of points off of turnovers. In most games it was out of hand and all they had to do was cruise. When Denver smacked him around early he didn't have the character and mental fortitude to fight through it. In other words. He's not a leader he's a child, a big, fast child. Can you imagine how the old Lombardy Packer teams would have reacted to Cam Newton?

This.

Miller is an animal. Together with Ware, they are unstoppable. Shout out to Wade Phillips as well. He has done an awesome job in Denver.

This was the best Playoff NFL defense I ever recall seeing. Holding Rothlisberger, Brady, and the NFL MVP Cam Newton to one passing TD was nothing short of amazing.

They had some big STs moments that helped, but I never remember an NFL game, let alone a playoff game, where the team got the W truly in spite of the offense.

Great game. Defenses still win championships, even at the highest still.

Watched the replay a couple more times, it's clear from the zoomed out angle that he could've/should've dove for the ball right away. The "he was too close/it was an awkward angle" argument doesn't hold water. He was only "too close" after taking three steps toward the ball. If he dove right away, there was plenty of room to stretch his 6'6 frame and reach the ball before anyone on D even realizes it was on the ground.

So why did he run up to the ball instead of diving? I think this is where his superman mentality was a detriment. He thought he could be superman on this play by picking up the ball and then turning it into a big play the way Russell Wilson did in the playoffs earlier this year. It goes back to fundamentals. Ball on the ground? Dive on it; don't try to pick it up.

Don't know what he was doin' there...but he got hit a lot in that game and kept gettin' back up, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt...I wonder if (in his mind) he thought it might have been an incomplete pass...
