Breaks not falling Bama's way this year

Is it me or does it seem like everything is going against Bama this year?
Ole Miss game, well, pick anything from that game but obviously one of the biggest was the bobbled snap, turn and throw tip drill to a wide open receiver. Another close call was the penalty that was picked up on the touchdown where he was clearly across the line except this throwing hand.
In the Georgia game, we had a roughing the snapper penalty. Think about that. Roughing. The. Snapper. I am sure that it is a penalty since they flagged it, but I am even more sure what occurred on the play was not roughing the snapper. And that penalty occurred at a time when the game was from being settled and it gave Georgia a 1st and goal.
Then come Saturday and an obvious pass interference call happened on the UT sideline. No worries with that one, those are what they are. But when the one guy intercepted the pass, got up, spun the ball and did the Dougie/Na Na/ whatever the kids call it and doesn't get flagged, yet Kenyan Drake lowered his shoulder and put a good pop on a defender, flexed and gave a yell and gets flagged, I have a problem with that. Now, Butch started working the officials early and I guess it paid off, but damn.
Now, I understand we probably have gotten as many breaks this year as have went against us, but this year just seems worse compared to years past. It seems like Bama has caught all (or many) of the breaks and close calls in the past, but it just doesn't seem to be happening this year. Yet, they keep winning!

You do realize that we are "on the brink" of going to the playoffs again, correct! Things happen, when we played A&M they went our way so it is part of the game. We have done pretty well as far as I am concerned.

We are definitely due for a big holding call to go against LSU or to cause a freak turnover

I get that, maybe I am just spoiled by breaks going Bama's way from the past.

I am not really talking turnovers, more just officiating. Honestly, you ever heard of a roughing the snapper penalty before it happened against Georgia?

Absolutely. This thread was just a thought I had after Kenyan got flagged but the INT celebration didn't get flagged. Just seems the breaks are not in our favor this year. But, they have overcame them (except Ole Miss) and like you said, are headed for the playoffs if they win out.

This was the correct spot. Much ado about nothing.

Alabama gets tons of breaks. But this year, I sense the same thing. I've never felt like bad luck was headed our way from play to play like I do this year.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist or anything, but it does seem like the refs have been particularly shitty towards us this year. How Tennessee didn't get called for holding when they were holding Tim Williams almost every down he was in there was absolutely ridiculous. It was infuriating being in the stadium and watching their oline tackle Tim Williams without getting called.
And then the OM game with the pop pass, but the refs calling us on it the next week when we were within three yards.
I almost wonder if Saban mentioning the pop pass play pissed off someone in the officiating ranks.

yeah, and then the next game the refs calling 'illegal lineman down field' when our lineman was like 2 yards down field I laughed out loud on that one.

that next weeks call of oline down field, i straight-up took as a slap in the face. an, i will call whatever i want to call pointed directly at bama.

Bro, we are being raped this year.

YES! I absolutely forgot about the lineman down field on the pass where he was almost passed the LoS. And like the rest, I absolutely lost it when it got called on us.
Regardless, glad to see I am not the only one who seems to think we are getting the shitty end of the refereeing stick.

We are last in the conference in penalties.
Most are definitely warranted, some not so much.
I think we need to clean up our act (I'm talking to you Oline ) and the penalties will get much better.

Could not agree with you more! It does seem like the officials are purposefully doing this shite. The no call PI and no call holding against Tennessee when they scored that second TD were so damn infuriating. I will never blame a loss on officiating, but I feel like every game this year we're playing the other team and the officials!

TAMU game stands out to me...they didn't want to throw a flag against TAMU at all, and they even picked up some on them as well. They were blatant as can be in that game. I couldnt remember a game where there were so many missed calls that we didn't get.

I just hope it's a clean game that doesn't get decided by a big call one way or another. The SECr will be a shitshow anyway and if that happens it will just turn it up to 11.

when has this happened though, really? Don't say PP7 b/c your O had 9 yards of offense in the 4th quarter that year and showed no reason to believe they were gonna go 60+ for the W, and don't say last year's personal foul penalty b/c A) it was warranted, B) everyone knew you were content to run up the middle three times and kick a FG, and C) you got your payback penalty on a Bama first and goal play in OT.

totally agree.
Why are you so normal and reasonable over here and different on Rant? We like this Draconian better - still loves and supports his team, but no flames or trolls.

Some LSU fans will say PP7 in '09, some Bama fans might say the Edic Reid int was a poor call in the GOTC. Not trying to argue the merits.

Well it's a little bit of a sink or swim on the SECr, I do try to at least police my own here and there when I can
