Biggest Flaw In the Gameplan

Early in the game when our defense was shutting Clemson down, we played conservatively on offense, thinking it was okay because we had a lead and our defense was playing well. We should've been more aggressive in getting points early. The worst was getting 3 points off of 2 turnovers in Clemson territory.
Far too often in this game, especially early on, the strategy was "It's okay, just put it on the defense."
In the 4th quarter it no longer held water.

I guess my point is, we should've known early in the game that it was absolutely critical for us to get up by 3 TDs. We didn't have an offense built to make a comeback or play a shootout when Clemson got hot, which they inevitably did

There's your ballgame right there. When you are playing a dynamic offense, you have to cash in the opportunities they give you. That was an opportunity to step on their throats and we couldn't do it. Kicking a FG in the third quarter probably gave Clemson some mojo knowing that they survived a potential backbreaker. I love #74 but he absolutely killed us on those two possessions after Clemson's turnovers. Incredibly poor effort there by him.
The game boils down to our simple inability to get first downs and keep Watson off the field. He's too good to bottle up. The offense lost the game for us in the late second quarter and the third quarter. While I wish our D could've stepped up, we simply couldn't hang onto the ball and milk clock & keep Watson from getting more chances. Clemson having 95 plays is ridiculous.
When it was time to "Make Their arse Quit," we couldn't do it.

Its never Saban's fault. It was Hurts' fault for not coming up with a more aggressive game plan.

It's tough to be aggressive when you know that aggression is going to result in turnovers or negative plays.

That's fear, and a lousy copout.

Like throwing ball? Weren't we bring aggressive when Hurts had passed batted down or couldn't find receivers?
Other than Bo, we have a very mediocre offense, when you look at the totality of it.
