I haven't heard of Bearded Iris. Is that Tennessee distribution only? Can I pick that up at hop city?
When I went to Burial I had some great stouts. I like Southern Prohibition's crowd control.
I was interested to see if NE/Hazy IPAs were making their way to the south.

Lagunitas has a Czech style pilsner that is very good.
Yeah, I'm not a huge Pilsner guy but I like this one. I also think Oskar Blues Mama's Little Yellow Pils and Founders PC Pils are both good. I enjoy the Founders one bc it has a hoppy character.

No founders here,'which sucks because I missed out on KBS this year

Unfortunately they are only distributing in Tennessee and parts of Kentucky right now, I am pretty sure. I really hope that they make their way down here to Birmingham. Great beers.
If you like Crowd Control, you'd really like the Breakfast IPA. It's their best IPA, IMO.

We are starting to see more and more of that style, which is awesome. Parish Brewing out of Broussard, LA, and Bearded Iris are making the best ones in the southeast.

Forgot about that one. I also like. Haven't had the PC Pils, but I will check it out for sure.
I had KBS this year for the first time, and it definitely lives up to the hype. So tasty. I still have four in my fridge.

I was in Highland NC last week and had Pernicious IPA from Wicked in Asheville; phenomenal beer, but may be a bit out of the way.

Not sure why but Wicked Weed distributes to Colorado so I wind up with their beer from time to time.
Did you tour the funkatorium while you were there? I highly recommend it

They are hitting big beer cities. Last time I looked they were only distributing in half of NC, but then they go outside and are in Atlanta, Austin and Denver. Might be in a city or two in CA now, not sure. I know they just released their collab with Rare Barrel not long ago.

OP, Yellowhammer makes mostly lagers it seems. I'm not a huge fan personally though.

Might get some after finals. OT, but I'd like to go out to a Barons game. It was pretty fun the last time I went.

Southern Prohibition out of Hattiesburg has an ipa called Devils Harvest Breakfast IPA that is really good. I've been drinking quite a few of them lately.
Still my go to beer, but if you never had them in the black cans you missed out. They just recently changed the recipe to make it more of a session IPA (green cans now) but the old recipe was a lot better. More citrusy and better mouth feel. SoPro makes some damn good beers, 2017 IPA is probably their best imo, only available on tap but if you can find it get a pint.
Had good people snake handler while I was in T-town for A-day. That is a dangerous beer because it's 10%abv but it's delicious and not boozy at all. Cut myself off after 2

Wait, are you talking the black devil's Harvest (not breakfast) cans? I didn't put two and two together until seeing your comment that apparently the breakfast ipa replaced the devil's Harvest apa that came in the black cans?
If so, I actually enjoy the breakfast ipa more, and it's not even really close for me. Different strokes I guess. I really enjoyed the DH in the black cans, don't get me wrong, but the Breakfast ipa is right up my alley.

Black Warrior here in town released a coffee stout. Gonna go try it out today.

What's the consensus on this brewery? I've only had a couple of their beers(IPA and a brown ale) and wasn't all that impressed. Looks like they have a really nice taproom though.

Not much of a fan honestly. Not a big fan of their IPA, and wasn't too thrilled with the brown ale they had. It's a great atmosphere and the staff is friendly though.

Any you guys tried anything new?
