I've actually watched him throw. The deep stuff is a freaking duck shoot. Not to say he can't make it better but his arm seems a little weak.

Going to suck wasting all that WR talent and speed with Bateman at QB. Rather have Cornwell, he can make all the throws, just need a good pass blocking OL.

The coaches know what they're doing. Whoever they pick will be the right choice, and it's almost certainly going to be Bateman. If the article is true, it must mean that he outperforms the others in terms of accuracy and decision making.

I can make accurate throws up to 15 yards. That is not a big achievement there. If Bama can't throw deep, teams will load the box and stop the run.

This Bama team could be one of the most talented that Saban has had, but I don't see them winning a title if Bateman is the starter come October.

He's still going to be the starter. More athletic. And can translate the playbook to the field. Cornwall can throw it 500 miles for all I care, but he's a statue in the pocket and he seems to be rattled easily.

You keep saying he is the starter and I'm telling you it's completely undecided. It's a race right now and someone has to prove it. However, I support the staff and they will do a good job preparing the starter. Don't be fooled though the starter and his backup are 1a and 1b not 1 and 2.

So let me ask, what is he doing with all that Michael Vick athleticism? Could have ran against Ole miss, but didnt. Not hating on the kid, but we have speed to burn at WR. The coaches will make the right choice. Personally don't think it's him.

The QB who starts for Bama this year will be the QB who makes us the best offense. Thankfully, arm strength is low on the list of QB traits that make us the best offense, after leadership, playbook knowledge, ball security, decision making, etc.

IMO, Bateman has the fewest things to remedy to be the guy. Hurts has a crapload of playbook to absorb and needs experience reading defenses. Barnett needs to improve basically everything about his game, most notably ball security and decision making. Cornwell lives in a universe where he moves at 75% speed of everyone else on earth and has no chance. Bateman has to improve the deep ball. Each has to win the team. Bateman's probably the guy, with Hurts the closest second.

Cornwell and Barnett, probably. BB8 is a solid athlete, but I'll at least say Bateman has speed and agility on him. I suppose he's the best athlete of the realistic options since Saban always redshirts true freshmen.

I don't believe his arm is going to get better. He has been in the program long enough. I believe as far as his arm talent, "it is what it is".

I believe Saban was wanting BB8 to be the man, but his decision making is crap so far.

I'd still rather anyone be our qb besides Bateman.

I'd say it's a long way from certain. I expect Barnett to climb ahead in the fall. I may be wrong, but saying it's almost certain at this point is silly. Nobody close to the program is certain right now.
