Avery Johnson Jr. averaged 1.4 points per game, shooting 35% from the field and 16% from beyond the arc.

It's going to be difficult for Texas A&M to replace that kind of production.

Will you give him a scholarship?

I mean we did, but it also sealed 4 top 100 recruits for us. We also took an all AAC pg transfer and needed one more ship free'd up

He is a freshman who saw playing time. Who knows his potential at this point?

@CecilHurt: Avery Johnson Jr. @itsaveryjohnson has received his release from Texas A&M per ESPN. Will transfer to Alabama. Has to sit out 2015-16.

Your amazing recruiting class is in large part due to him and his father. Could be a bit nicer to the kid.

Wouldn't he have to sit out 2 years for transferring in conference? Or did A&M actually do a decent thing and waive that?

Trading one bench for another. Wish him luck. Not sure how much of a role he played in getting the more talented Texas Titans to aggieland (tbh the only reasonable explanation is a large bag of cash), but even if it was just a small role props to him.
