Plus, we had stopped better running teams all year with 7 guys in the box.

I don't think any other SEC team we played runs the ball the way they do. They use so much misdirection that you need an extra guy in the box from the start. With as bad as they had been passing the ball, we should have wanted them to do it more.

Agree, holding them to 90 was huge. Saban obviously was on the bend, don't break plan the first half. The last thing you want is for Auburn to get into rhythm passing and keep you guessing on early downs.

My guess is that he wanted to try and bait them into doing the same thing in the second half thinking that it would still work, and then bring the extra man in the box to completely f their second half gameplan up.

Not sure if true or not, but the Aub board said their RT went out near the end of the half and they had replace him with their TE, which weakened their blocking schemes.

Beat me to it. The Ole Miss play where Kelly threw the ball up for grabs to avoid a sack and the ball got tipped to another player was a miracle play. This was a bad play by Smith and a good athletic move by the WR to stay with the ball. It was low percentage play, but not miraculous.

You're just splitting hairs. That's an incomplete pass 99% of the time.
