Anyone else concerned about Rueben Foster?

I love watching him fly around but it bugs me that he keeps getting obviously concussed on every third or fourth tackle he makes. That stuff can have serious long term consequences. I really hope we're not jeopardizing someone's health just for some special teams play.

You realize the only person jeopardizing their health is Reuben right? "We" are not jeopardizing the health of anyone.

But yes, Reuben needs to start leading with his shoulder and head up rather than leading with his crown. He could be seriously injured if he continues to tackle the way he has been tackling.

Dude needs to learn to quit lowering his head.

Yeah, I'm not so confident that he'll become what we hoped. He keeps getting hurt, he rarely form tackles, and he seems limited anyway. Doesn't seem to have the hips to cover and I'm not even confident he could be sideline to sideline against the run. I feel like blitzing and stopping interior runs is where he'd shine, but that isn't much. I've seen it suggested before, I think he'll platoon with a coverage backer, like CJ/Nico did from 2010-2012.

I just hope he doesn't kill himself out there.

The backlash at Michigan earlier this year says otherwise.

It's not concussions, it's almost always stingers/burners with him. He'd be on hardship right now if he had a concussion problem.

If I was running the power I, I'd put his arse at FB.

I've seen that idea before (I think from you) and I love it. Not sure how he'd feel, but he'd be a great fit.

He'd probably hate it because FBs don't get paid.

Reminds me of Jimmy John flying around out there on kickoff coverage.

Fun fact; his nickname is the Headless Horseman for his tackling style and the brace.

He'd be a hugely punishing linebacker if he could fix his form. I don't really expect him to be anything more than a special teams guy at this point though.

Oh you mean Bobby Boucher?

Not even joking, he plays exactly like Bobby Boucher. Not great form, can't cover, but he sure as shite can hit like nobody's business.

Rueben is our enforcer. I don't think he'll ever be an every down player, and I don't think he really cares as long as he can decapitate a few guys every game. So we use him accordingly.
