It's not on anything, but I still need to find a place to stay fairly soonish. Financially i was really depending on having a roommate for at least a year, especially since i'm gone so much.

Why not? People reach out in various ways to find roommates. There are usually a lot of adds in the newspaper classified section.

I'm in highland park but have no space. just chiming in to say I live by myself in a sick spot with a bunch of space and don't pay much more than that. I imagine if you're cool with living in an old place or, God forbid, the suburbs, you legitimately may be able to find a one room near your price range. good luck!

I'm certainly willing to live in just about any place within a 40 mile radius of my job that I don't have to dodge bullets.

My job is actually pretty good here. She's moving here in a year.
