Going into the 2015 season, I said that what hurt the 2014 team was that we had a propensity to gone on periods where we'd have lot 3 & outs and that put a lot of stress on our defense at the time.

Last year, I think a problem we had was we had a tough time scoring early. From the LSU game through the Michigan State game, we usually didn't score a TD until the second quarter. Considering our D was so dominant, it really wasn't a huge issue. That said, its still something I'd like to see improvement on. I believe we blow Auburn out if we punch it in the end zone on that opening drive. The Arkansas game probably isn't a 4 quarter game if we punch it in the endzone on one of those opening drives. Looking at our schedule next year, we are possibly going into a few "Game of the Year" for multiple opponents on the road. Scoring early will be key to breaking team's wills early.

Obviously this is just small criticism and I'm not out to fire anyone. Just an observation.

I think some of that is a result of the way Kiffin used early plays to (a) get the defense to show their hand and (b) set up situations late in the game.

It was planting the seeds in the first and then picking the fruit in the 3rd and 4th.....

My hope is that a better offensive line will lead to less negative plays, which will lead to less 3 and outs. We had a lot of drives last year that started with Henry getting stuffed at the line and then made it nearly impossible to get out of the hole.

I also want the secondary guys to keep improving against the pass.

And finally, I'd like for Adam to be consistent the entire season.

Stupid penalties and negative plays ruined a lot of drives last year

Negative yardage on first down was a huge problem. Kind of amazing how it plagued us all year.

Agreed. While our line wasn't bad, I was surprised that we won that best line award last year. That's the most negative plays I can recall giving up, at least in the Saban era...first season in a long while where I didn't feel comfortable on 3rd or 4th and short...

Yea - our line last year was unbalanced. Kelly and post-bye week Cam were great. Big P got better as the year went on, Shank was average and Jackson was a sieve.

I don't think we will have any weak spots this year. Cam will be dominant. The other 4 will be good to very good.
