Alabama Wins Joe Moore Award As Most Outstanding Offensive Line Unit
December 16, 2015
Helped Lead RB Derrick Henry to Heisman
TUSCALOOSA, Alabama – December 16, 2015 — In a surprise presentation on the University of Alabama campus, The Joe Moore Foundation for Teamwork announced today that the Alabama offensive line is the winner of the 2015 Joe Moore Award for the Most Outstanding Offensive Line Unit in College Football.
As the first-ever recipient of college football’s biggest trophy, Alabama was selected as the winning Unit by a voting committee comprised solely of people who played or coached the offensive line position, including all of the current offensive line coaches at the Division I/FBS level as well as former players, coaches and colleagues of Coach Moore and select media. The Crimson Tide were selected over fellow finalists Arkansas, Iowa, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Stanford.
In winning the SEC championship and a berth in the College Football Playoffs, Alabama featured a power game that allowed them to finish fourth in the nation in time of possession. The physical play of their offensive line Unit led the way for the record-breaking season of RB Derrick Henry, who broke Hershel Walker’s SEC single-season rushing record on his way to winning several post-season awards, including the Heisman Trophy, the Maxwell Award and the Walter Camp Award as the nation’s top player, along with the Doak Walker Award as it’s top running back.

Wow, I'm surprised they won this.
They weren't a strong unit for a good portion of the season.

I think the concept for this award is incredibly awesome, but that thing looks like a rolltop desk

Wow! 350 pounds. Maybe they'll use it to work out with.

The bronze trophy for the Joe Moore Award will go to the Most Outstanding Offensive Line Unit in college football and, at more than 350 pounds, is the largest trophy in college football.

And the awards just keep coming. Congratulations to our O-line, well deserved

Very nice. Is there an award for defensive line?

Since its an offensive klune teamwork trophy, they just figured it needed to weigh as much as an offensive lineman.

How many Rantard threads will whine about missed holding calls and reference the amount of tfl given up.
Totally awesome, an unexpected pit stir.

They were spotty this year. Play great a few series and then have a break down series. They improved as the year progressed though. Can't help but think Henry really helped them win it.

I wouldn't put this year's line among the best of the Saban era, but it is better than 2013 and 2014. They have gotten better as the year went on, which is understandable considering they returned very few starts.
Awesome award and it has to be among the most expensive to produce. I hope they keep it going.

How did the 2012 OL not win this award?

Looks like they're only going to make the one and move it from campus to campus like the Stanley Cup.

I'm no expert, but I don't think we had anything close to the nation's best OL.
Though I'm of course proud of the guys for winning it.

It's long, long overdue for an expansion. It barely has anything in at all really, compared to what we could put in it.
The Mal Moore building has way nicer exhibits and stuff at this point.

And I'm with everyone else, this award is kinda weird, considering our OLine actually did not play particularly well quite often. Lots of sacks, lots of tackles in the backfield.
We struggled more at OLine this year than the last 5-6.

I think every line Saban has had at Bama other than 07 was better than this one.
