Good receiver and eligible to play this year.

Richard Mullaney set to transfer to Alabama

2013 highlight reel

quote:

Completely healthy in 2013, Mullaney hauled in 52 passes for 788 yards, totals that were both second on the Beavers. Per OSU, 37 of his 52 receptions that season resulted in either first downs or touchdowns.

Oh yes. Hes a really sure receiver, big with great hands. He brings good experience to a squad that at toss point only has a bunch of potential

He's automatically the most experienced WR we have on the roster. Good haul.

Doubt he starts. Quality backup that will play 10-20 snaps a game.

Great move by Saban and staff. A proven kid! Any idea why he didn't want to finish his career at OKST?

Probably change of the QB, coaching staff and new offensive scheme.

I'd be surprised if he wasn't at the very least in a 3 WR set.

it'll come down to what it always comes down to with Saban's WRs: CAN HE BLOCK?

i've heard mixed reviews on his blocking ability. but i havent heard anything from anyone I consider to be an expert.

That is the question, though his competition isn't exactly known for blocking outside maybe Falkins.

I've read willing blocker moreso than neccessarily good. His WR coach at OSU said his technique was good.

yeah it's tough to say who our best blocking WR is right now. I would have said Cam Sims easily until his injury.

i dont believe you can just look at a guy's size and say, oh he'll be a good blocker. I remember several smaller WRs who were very good blockers. C.Jones kept himself on the field with his blocking and I dont think he was ever a biscuit over 200 pounds. Prothro was amazing at blocking. It's all about the mindset.

Sims definitely would have started base set, with the trust they had in him even last season.

Stewart had some good blocks last year too, A&M game comes to mind. I think he's gonna break out if the right trigger man emerges. He's just electric...

Glad to have him, he should be in the rotation. He's more proven that Stewart and Foster, but I don't know that he has more potential. I'm interested in seeing how this shakes things up.

Hopefully, in the very least, he'll be a good leader. That's something that's often underestimated.

Every receiver doesn't need to be a big time stud heading to the NFL in the 1st round.

Another Marquis Maze would be just fine with me. Hard worker who is there when you need him and passionate about the team/game.

Hope he's that.

I am interested to see what kind of offense Alabama runs this year, with 2 running backs and 4,000 wide receivers.

I don't know, but a high ankle injury to Henry or a hamstring to Drake would be brutal.
