Fyffe never loses do they? That's who knocked my team out of the playoffs my senior year.

Anyone catch up with how Daphne has been doing? I see they're 2-1, but they're playing Fairhope this week. They've usually been good in that power rushing attack.

I haven't really kept up with it since I graduated and stopped playing in 2013-14. I keep up with the local teams around where I live but that's really it. I miss the old days...

I miss the old regions. I don't understand Wetumpka having to play Opelika, Chelsea, Pelham, and Helena.

No Prattville, no care.

Time to fire Chad Anderson.

I remember being so pissed off when Chad left Wetumpka. We just missed the playoffs after so many consecutive years because we had an ineligible player. Very much glad it happened now

Sorry I was away last night. Lot of good games that could decide the region winners this year. One big one I was paying attention to was Gardendale and Minor and I was really surprised to see Minor win as convincingly as they did. Minor has some talent a skill positions, but they looked good.

I'm sure everyone saw Tuscaloosa County High get destroyed by Hoover 62-7. Not surprisingly, it may take a while for Bart Sessions to get things rolling at County High and Hoover is more than likely the best team in the state. This is really the first game that Hoover has looked good offensively, so it may be an anomaly... or they could have turned the corner.

Another big one was of course Enterprise and Auburn, which Enterprise won 28-14. Big win for Enterprise as they looked to compete with Central Phoenix City for the region. Phoenix City btw won 51-14 over Smith Station.

Notable games from the Bham region:
-The big one of course was Oak Mountain winning on a last second TD to beat Thompson 30-28. Crazy enough, this is the second straight week they've done that. No idea what to think about this, because Thompson has been competitive all year and Oak Mountain has been inconsistent as hell. Lost to Huffman, got pounded by Hillcrest and Chelsea, but beat Vestavia Hill 34-7. They'll play Hoover next.
-Mountain Brook beat Mountain Brook 23-21 by kicking a FG with 6 seconds left. Mt Brook looked like they were going to run away with this one after scoring 20 unanswered. Thompson's a really competitive team this year though and fought back to make it 21-20 led by RB D’Arie Johnson.
-Vestvia Hills beat Huffman 35-21. Great start by them, as they were leading 35-7 at halftime, but in large part of the turnovers by Huffman and great starting field position.
-Chelsea whooped up on Pelham 55-35. Kind of a rebound week for Chelsea as I believe they lost to region foe Benjamin Russel last week. Chelsea looked good on the ground as Reyniolds and Marquet ran for over 368 yards (9 yards per carry). They're tied for second in the region right now with Benjamin Russell, with Opelika in the lead.
-Helena beat Homewood 25-7

Big rivalry down in Baldwin County: Daphne 28-0 over Fairhope.

Unfortunate injury last night to the QB for Albertville last night. Wil Appleton broke his arm last night after an 8-yard gain. Oxford went on to beat them 44-0.

Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa won 23-13 over McAdory to push their season to 5-0. Cole Frederick was efficient, completing 19 of his 22 passes for 216 yards for 1 TD. He also ran in a TD. Hillcrest was up 23-7 and looking to put the game away, but McAdory fought and scored late, but failed the 2-point conversion. Closest game all year for Hillcrest, as their average margin of victory was around 45-14.

Opelika looked impressive and looking like the best team in the state for 6A. Shutout Benjamin Russell 34-0. This is their 4th shutout on the year, and no one has been able to be within 28-points this year. Their defense is as strong as ever up front, and the offense is doing what they need to. Weldrin Ford has 866 all purpose yards on the year at RB. JD Worth has done what he needs to at QB, throwing for close to 500 yards and 4 TD's and 1 INT. Guessing they're also doing a two-QB system, as sophomore Blackmon has 230 yards on the year and 3 TDs. Either way, Jaleel Heard is a big target this year with 3 TD's and averaging 14.1 yards per catch.

Wetumpka beat Chilton County 40-32. Indians were down 21-16 at halftime and exploded in the second half.

McGill Toolen and Blount play this week. Al.com has Blount as the #1 team in 6A, but I think Opelika may hold that spot IMO. Either way, a huge match-up. Kadarius Toney (Florida commit) has to have a big game for Blount to win or even be competitive.

Really hoping we can get a Hoover-McGill Toolen match-up for the 7A state championship. Since Prattville has completely imploded since Bill Clark left, I don't know of anyone else that can compete with the Bucs. Even with their struggles on offense, they are running right through their region.

Too bad they chose to run away from CCHS this year. Would have been an awesome game.

Yeah it's a shame that they won't get to play when HT has a good team that can compete with Clay.

Interesting 1A game 2 weeks from tonight. #1 Maplesville at Isabella. I went to both schools so I know how much they hate each other. Both teams will likely be undefeated and ranked in the top 10 at game time. They used to play every year and they're both from the same small town of Maplesville. This game pretty much is the region championship. Isabella was 1-9 last year and fired their coach, then hired Maplesville's OL coach to be the new HC. He has them playing great but they haven't been tested yet. Maplesville hasn't been tested either. I expect Maplesville to win but I'm pulling for Isabella to upset them.
