Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying, but you're saying u want Avery to recruit kids that are in Alabama and nearby states right? Instead of going after players way off in other states? Our 5 signees are from Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi. Just happened to be that 2 of them were nationally known players who are both 5 stars on ESPN. Avery would've been dumb not to go after them. Then he went and got 2 of the top players from Alabama, Reese and Herb. Then went and got a top player and #1 center from Mississippi, Galin smith. He did 100% perfect on this class. Couldn't have asked for anything to be different.

This has probably been posted before, but it's worth posting again. Sexton's thoughts on our 2017 class.

quote:

Sexton has talked to Washington a lot about how great he thinks this Alabama recruiting class can be, a group that also includes top-30 player John Petty, four-star forward Alex Reese, versatile 6-foot-7 left-handed shooting guard Herb Jones and three-star center Galin Smith. Each player brings something different to the table, Sexton has said. And Sexton tells Washington regularly that Jones is "the X-factor" because of his ability to play at least three different positions. Sexton also feels that 6-foot-10 forward Daniel Giddens, an Ohio State transfer who was a top-50 recruit, is going to be a difference-maker for the Tide. "They feel like they've got a chance to do something really special," Washington said.

I was looking at the offers we have out for 2018-2020. I see those highly touted kids on the list from distant parts of the country and I just wonder what kind of realistic chance we have with them.

Oh ok. I think the local kids for the next couple years aren't that good. They're mostly like 3 star and under players. Most of them aren't that good anyways. I think after this year if we have a successful season, that'll help a ton in recruiting

If we make some noise this year, it would really help us. Gotta start making some waves so we can get the attention of some of those kids that are further away. We aren't a blue blood school, but we need to be the "cool" school.

Yeah this is vital because Alabama and the surrounding states are loaded for 2019 with Watford (Birmingham), Wiseman (Nashville), and Jeffries (Olive Branch, MS) all being top 15 guys.

I don't expect much from this 2018 class. I think we have a good shot at Moss, Woodard, and Fleming. The in State guys are underwhelming, and they seem to be leaning Barn at the moment.

I think we might have a shot at Simi Shittu from Vermont too. We were one of the first teams to offer him. Also, he's from Canada which means he's probably a pro focused guy more than a basketball tradition guy.

Yeah I'm pulling for Kentucky too. I picked Kentucky in my bracket, but the reason I'm pulling for them is bc I hate Wichita's fanbase and I want the SEC to do good for once

A juco here and there is OK but no IMO. No team wins anything by doing that. As far as grad transfer vs juco it depends on the player but some grad transfers are beast. We had both this year and I'd say neither were great but our grad was better than our juco. Each year Avery has been here he has got big name but the first two years the best guys didn't make it in. So I say if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Year 1 Avery landed Eubanks who ended up not qualifying and he landed Ferguson who went overseas instead. Next year he lands the best class in Bama history. He's doing fine

Add this to the list of reasons I don't like Wichita State. Marshall's wife was in the crowd acting ridiculous cussing out everyone and the security guards wouldn't do anything about it bc of who she is. Im glad we don't have this trash at Alabama. Mrs Cassandra Johnson is as classy as they come. Check out what Marshall's wife did on this ? LINK /?

For any Wichita State fans reading our board: HAHAHAHAHAHA YOU LOST

No. He could give him one if it becomes available, but he'll probably use it to go after a grad transfer

We beat a team that made it to the Sweet 16....... TWICE

It's a moral victory, but I don't give a shite.
