I am still concerned with our offense a bit. We scored 52 points in the first 28 minutes tonight. Then we scored 13 the rest of the way including a 3 with 10 seconds left. If we didn't have those lulls we would actually be pretty solid on offense, but we still suffer from them for no apparent reason. We were getting decent looks, but we just can't seem to get anything to fall for 5 or 6 minutes at a time.

The reason is were young and a jump shooting team now. Shooting isnt very consistent and guys dont know when to shoot the ball at times. Its not like in past years where we could depend on a down low guy to get us a basket when we needed. Anyway I like this team better. At least they play hard.

Who is doing the scouting report on our opponent tomorrow. I got as much scoop as I could on OSU. I nominate you or Bird

I'm watching the Nova-Purdue game. Nova has a whitey at PG who can drain it from 2 feet past the NBA line and seems to have good court vision. Otherwise no one really stands out to me. Purdue is pretty much your standard Big 10 team.

I think I'd rather play Nova.

I'm going to watch the second half.

Here's a CBS article on Trevor Lacey: LINK

I'm assuming that means they are much more guard oriented?

Yep. Purdue is killing them on the glass.

ETA: Just looked at the box score and Nova is actually out-rebounding Purdue, which surprised me. Nova doesn't have much inside at all and it seems like they haven't gotten any 2nd chance points and Purdue has gotten a lot. Purdue did have 6 offensive rebounds in the 1st half though.

Nova is winning by ten, but I'd still rather play them. Purdue just isn't hitting their 3s like they normally do. Purdue's PG is a drive and kick out to the open 3 guy, which is something that kills us some games because we all collapse on the drive. If Purdue wins we got to ease up on the help on drives.

It's pretty clear from what I've seen in the 2nd half that their SG Byrd is the player to stop. Great shooter and very good passer as well.

I think we can beat either of these teams, but not if we go into a prolonged scoring drought. It would have been awesome if Tony Mitchell could have not been a complete shite head.

I personally think Mitchell had the ability, athleticism, and potential to be one of Bama's greats. A shitty demeanor and his lack-luster effort at times killed all of it. If he ever gets it turned around he will be a very solid NBA player IMO

I thought he could be special after his freshman year. The red flags started coming out during his sophomore season. Then last year it finally came to a head and crashed down. Guys like that are frustrating as hell. Give Andrew Steele Mitchell's physical gifts and you have a potential All American candidate.

Looks like we will be playing Purdue tomorrow, which is unfortunate. Nova is pretty careless with the ball and I think our press would give them all kinds of problems.

A better way to describe Purdue's O is it lives and dies by DJ Byrd. Personal opinion is we already played the 2 best teams in SDSU then OSU.

My gameplan and I'm sure it is Grant's as well if Purdue wins, which I think they will, is non-stop pressure. Don't give them any room and they should turn the ball over like crazy IMO.

Both teams are very careless and loose with the ball. This 2nd half was just painful to watch.

They both throw it away a lot. We forced a ton of turnovers tonight without relying too much on the press, which I liked to see. If only we had a beast shot blocker on the back end. Hopefully Taylor and his 7'5" wing span can come in and contribute early next season. I like the core of this team though. We just need one or two more pieces.

They both are going to be sore as shite. It's been a war in the 2nd half.

I wish we had another Pollard this year. Use one for applying pressure and the other for shot-blocking. But seriously, I can not wait for Jimmie for that reason alone. I can't wait to have both Pollard and Taylor down there. It's a very nice shot-blocking duo.

We've drawn some terrible matchups for Pollard this year thus far. He had no chance trying to stop a 290 pound kid. He'll be effective once he can guard the 6'6 skinny kids.

I think Pollard is going to be really good by the time the 2nd half of conference play rolls around. You can see the massive amount of talent and upside he has, but the game is still happening way too fast for him on offense right now.

How many times have we played Purdue over the past several years?
