If I'm reading it right, he would coach that team for 3 years. I'd say he would have to resign from Bama.

I don't know how that works to be honest

He has served as an assitanta for Team USA before. So I don't think he would have to resign. No different than Mike Krzyzewski at Duke.

He's done a great job building our softball program. There are a lot of people in the AD that think very highly of him. It would be a well deserved position if he can get it.
I don't keep up with softball outside a handful of games I get to make with my daughters but weren't they talking about voting softball back into the Olympics? Just curious....

The previous head coach, it seems, was simultaneously the national team HC and the head coach at South Florida. So it doesn't look like a gig that requires the coach to abandon his other role.
