Ole Miss is a really good team. They scored 24 points off of turnovers. They scored 7 on a fluke play and 7 on an illegal/gimmick play. Our defense played about as well as you could expect.

Coker was horrible about 80% of the time. Played his heart out and found some surprising mobility at times. Tons of bad decisions and inaccurate throws. Bateman really only had the awful pick and then at least one other bad throw. Some of his completions weren't perfectly thrown to move the chains, but he seemed more accurate than Coker.

Offensive line got destroyed by a super-talented D line, especially Nkemdiche. Bad matchup for us on both sides of the ball.

Congrats to Griffith on a made field goal and then a perfect onside kick. I'm thinking his confidence may come back with that. His XPs were looking a little crisper too late in the game.

Otherwise, special teams fricked it up like usual.

All that and we lost by 5. I like our chances to finish at least 9-3 this season, with our defense matching up better with other SEC offenses. Hopefully our offense can get a better rhythm.

I think the defense played very well tonight. They just were hung out to dry by mistakes.

Our defensive front is absolutely outstanding. Maybe we don't have a singular niche, edge-rusher like some teams. But they collapse the pocket quickly and cannot be run on to boot. They're the main reason that game was as close as it was.

Perhaps the tale of the game was the difference in what happened when Bateman threw up a rushed/prayer pass v/s what happened when Kelly threw up a rusher/prayer pass. It was just that kind of night.

If we can gear the offense down to throws that are no more than 20 yards down field, I think he can be viable as our QB.

Right now, I'd kill a drifter for LSU's offense. Never have to throw the ball more than 20 yards but willing to just run...run...run no matter what.

I actually think you get the most out of Coker when he is in gunslinger mode. His skillet is not really that of a game manager type. JMO, but I think that's why Bateman got the start. He is more consistent in the short to intermediate game.

We just need to roll with Coker and throw caution to the wind. That defense deserves so much better though, lol!

He's still SO bad at 60% of those throws too. He sold me as the starter though. He needs to play until they lose again.

You say that, but watch them against Alabama this year. I haven't been this confident in the LSU game in years. I think Alabama is a HORRIBLE matchup for LSU.

Throw in Georgia and Arkansas too and if Auburn can't get a QB that can pass the ball, they will be on this list too.

Those games are must wins, no doubt. I'm not glossing over them at all(damn this schedule is tough haha). But LSU is the game.

I think some of the reason they both look bad is the pass catchers run the wrong routes half the time.

Stewart needs to be the third or fourth option.
Really hope Foster can get back on the field soon. He is a player that can block, catch and run with the ball. May have been a different story with him out there for the whole game.
