Just to provide an idea of who's coming & go.

Right now we have 20 players signed/committed for next year and I expect them to add a couple more late JUCO signees or walk-ons, even between now and the fall.

Of those 20, at least 3 but up to 5 won't see campus - all HS kids. We might lose a JC transfer or two, but unlikely based on what all I've read and am privy to - but the MLB draft is weird and always tons of surprises.

1. Jacob Hearthely/LHP Cullman HS
2. Bubba Thompson/OF R/R McGill-Toolen HS
Neither will see campus both should be Top 50 overall draft picks

3. Sam Praytor/C R/R Helena HS
Very highly and nationally ranked catcher. Big bat. Not counting on him being at UA but he ends up here, he could be an instant-impact bat.

4. Chris Holcomb/LHP Cape Cod, MA
Originally committed to Goff as a member of the c/o of 2018 but relcassed and changed schools this semester to be eligible for the draft (and be in his correct grade). Typically, people do that for draft reasons. So I'm not expecting him to show up to Tuscaloosa.

5. Zach Hanna/OF L/L Shawnee, HS (Iowa Western JC)
6. Joe Breaux/OF L/L Tomball, TX (McLennan CC)

Both lefty corner outfielders - not sure if they can play CF but both have put up solid numbers in 2 years of elite level Juco ball. Either would be expected to step in and start Day 1 and hit at the top or the middle of the order. Listed together but I'm going to guess at least (maybe Breaux) signs pro.

7. Sam Gardner/RHP Shelbyville, TN (Walters St. CC)
Has had a fine season this year - could be instant impact guy if he gets to UA and I expect he will based on his size and scouting reports. Could be a weekend starter for us - though typically you don't want JUCO transfer as weekend starters - but rather filling holes in the back end of the bullpen...

8. Dylan Cyphert/LHP Cranberry, PA (Gulf Coast State)
9. Sage Diehm/LHP Nampa, ID (College of Southern Nevada) Both lefties from the JC ranks that were fairly highly rated prospects out of HS. Cyphert originally enrolled at Pittsburgh but quickly left whereas Diehm originally signed and enrolled at North Carolina. Cyphert appears to have solid stuff but command issues. Diehm has not pitched this year since opening day so I assume he could retain his Sophomore eligiblity status when he gets here. I could see Cyphert not making it to campus but Diehm is a pretty safe bet at this point.

10. DJ Petrinsky/C R/R Magnolia, TX (Hill College)
Newest addition to the class and haven't had much tim e to dig into him - but he's put up solid offensive numbers for Hill College as a Soph this year and his line translates to being a safe bet to transition to the SEC offensively, but one alarming stat especially considering our catcher play this past year, is that he's allowed 12 passed balls.

11. Jake Sims C/IF L/R Guelph, Ontario (Canda) Roane St CC
He's listed as a catcher but basically no chance he plays there in the SEC based on the fact he's barely played there at Roane but rather been a 1B/DH. Offensive numbers haven't been great for that position, either.

12. Whitt Davis 1B R/R Huntsville (East Mississippi CC)
Solid offensive numbers at EMCC but that's D2 Juco and it's hard to really project that to the SEC level. If he's able to contribute next year it will be a pleasant surprise.

13. Tyler Spring/RHP Wiggins, MS (Jones Co)
Another Mississippi JUCO kid - hasn't pitched this year but was big in their D2 JUCO National Championship in 2016. I assume he profiles as a mid-inning relief pitcher at best, possibly being a high-leverage guy.

14. John Shields/MIF Tampa, FL (Plant HS)
One of the few Gaspard committs that didn't bail (along with Heatherly, Myers & Praytor) and has been committed for a years. Very little information I've come across on him in terms of whether he can be an in-stant impact guy (positively)

15. Mitch Myers/RHP Opelika HS
Good college prospect

16. Brady Greene/RHP St. James HS - Montgomery
Could develop into a solid SEC starter.

***So much emphasis is placed on velo when they rank or project these kids---which is why so many great college players weren't highly rated but they show up to college, grown and develop and learn to throw strikes and usually get some velo bumps - but it annoys me personally how much emphasis scouts place solely on velo with these 17 year-old kids.

Also, they're ranked based on MLB projections - not college so important to keep that in mind. Not many 5'11" pitchers or 5'9" hitters are going to be highly rated out of HS - but look around the SEC at how many are Dominant.

17. Zach Harlan/RHP Daphne HS
Another in-state RHP with not much out on there on him.

18. Tyler Gentry/RHP-OF Arlington HS (TN)
Not sure what he was reruited as (or both) but could another diamnond-in-rough and a kid that develops into a solid player, but like the rest of the HS signees - probably not going to make waves Day 1.

19. Jared Shemper/LHP Germantown, TN (Christian Brothers)
Yeah - not much info on him, either.

20. Noah Fondren/3B Cullman HS
Could develop into a good college player in a couple years but probably would have been better off going JUCO and getting experience.

So there's the 20 and likely a couple more to come late...so at least 16+ new faces will be here for fall practice. And we're only going to lose a handful of SR/draftees so expect tons of roster turnover. I won't speculate on names but likely to not see many of the current freshmen here in the spring of 2018 as they'll go play JUCO.

And some (rising) SRs and JRs that aren't draft concerns - and not really worth transferring to D2 or sitting out - might just hang it up and not have to endure another year of Goff's program

SR's:
1) Tanner DeVinny
2) Nick Eicholtz
plus walk-ons/post-grads Mike Oczypok & Taylor Poe
Will lose to draft:
3) Garrett Suchey
4) Jake Walters
Probably lose to the draft
5) Chandler Taylor
6) Hunter Alexander
7) Chandler Avant

Could very well see us with a roster set-up much like Auburn from this year expect it won't have Casey Mize, Keegan Thompson or a bunch of facial hair and mullets.
