Someone asked me a while back why I felt so confident in signing Sexton after his visit to Kansas. I didn't post then, but it seems safe now.
Sexton's mother played a big role in his recruitment and was in our corner the entire time. She attended visits to Alabama, but didn't go to Kansas. The guy who told me this implied that his visit to Kansas was made out of courtesy and curiosity. What fan of the game wouldn't want to take a visit to Kansas? They have one of the premier programs in the history of college basketball.

Agreed, but I would recant "finally". He's been succeeding at recruiting the moment he was hired. Even with the Ferguson and Eubanks incidents he did pretty damn good for his first class with 1 top 50ish recruit, a top JUCO transfer, a top 5 NCAA transfer, and 2 high-end grad transfers.

Nice. I had a feeling his mother had something to do with it from reading what different people were saying. His recruitment sure did make me nervous

Verbalcommits.com has a list of players we're recruiting but Idk how accurate it is. It's just a list tho, idk who were recruiting the hardest

Javian Fleming is the only one I know. He's visited a few times already. We'll need to hit the 2/3 positions pretty hard.

I heard some good info from a very, very well connected person into our program (talks with two of our assistants from time to time). He had this to say (paraphrased) about Herb Jones.
"Not many people are talking about him with Sexton and Petty having signed, but behind the scenes, our staff thinks he may wind up being the best player in our class in about 3 years or so. They think he has incredible upside."
So, suffice it to say that our staff is very, very high on Herb Jones. He may not come in and be the instant impact star that Sexton and Petty might be, but watching him develop after a year or two in the program should be a lot of fun.

I'm going to try to watch Petty play on Friday in the Lighthouse Classic in Corinth, MS. Looks like a pretty group of teams and with highly ranked players.

We need Sexton and Petty NOW. Yikes. We're awful on the offensive end of the floor right now. Key is our best player.

Scouts said they rarely guarded each other but still really impressive to efficiently score that many points against a good team.
