The Crimson Tide play host to the Penn State Nittany Lions for the first time in 20 years. Trent Richardson celebrated the occasion by going off to the tune of 144 yards on 22 carries.

That Penn St team was completely over matched, Bama should have won that game around 45-3.

I don't think Saban wanted to run the score up on Joe Pa

I was on the 45 yard line on the 2nd row on Penn State's sideline.

I could see JoePa 20 feet away and took some pictures thinking I was witnessing a legend up close.

Then the whole scandal happened and I learned he was a massive piece of shite. I deleted the pics from my phone after that.

I was in the student section. The moment where Bowden, Paterno, and Saban met at midfield during pre-game warm-ups felt so iconic at that time. Three living legends right there in Bryant-Denny. Much has come out since then to taint that feeling, but I will never forget how it originally felt.

I'll be damned if you aren't right. And before that you have to go all the way back to 2003 to find the next one (Oklahoma). Hard to argue with the scheduling given the on the field success and possibly unprecedented recruiting, but man that is quite a drought of having any big name OOC teams come to Tuscaloosa. Wouldn't mind a rotation of home/home with marquee OOC team, big neutral site game, home/home, neutral, etc. Mix it up a little and get some of these big games back on campus while still getting the Atlanta, Dallas, etc exposure every third year.

What I took away from this game was how disgusting the Penn State fanbase was. They trashed the tailgating areas. I've never seen so much natty light cans and boxes piled up in one setting.

You sure you aren't talking about a LSU game? The 2009 game brought out the trash of the trash.

LSU is bad. But no SEC fanbase is as bad as what Penn State left. And they're no kinder to their own campus.

I forgot about meeting Anthony Grant at this game. My wife saw him being escorted around with an entourage and walked up to him and said "Who are you?"

Yeah we watched the game at our tailgate and some Penn State fans joined us and they commented at how impressed they were our fans cleaned up after themselves. We were all kind of shocked at that comment, like there was an option to just leave your trash everywhere.

The game was cool to see, but man was it boring.

I remember the morning of that game, I was waiting on some Tut's, and there was an older PSU couple waiting for their food also. Some napkins got breezed off a table next us, so I picked them up off of the ground and threw them away. I noticed the PSU couple watching me do this, seemingly astonished that a person my age would clean up trash that wasn't even mine. I was confused, but it made sense after seeing the condition in which their fans left the quad.

Quad wasn't as bad as I think it's Little Hall? Social Work building across from the quad. That place was absolutely trashed.

Norwood as a redshirt freshman then. It seemed like he was a 5th year senior for like 3 years

^I thought we might never see him again after his flip into the endzone.
