Kicker was a Tiffin
Undefeated
Only team in history to play #1 and #2 in a row and win (up to that point at least)
6 consensus AAs (record)
Our backups had backups whose backups were All Americans
1st Heisman winner
The best WR in literally the world today was a glorified run blocker
Super motivated, more so than Saban's other championship teams

Yeah. Deal with it. Or discuss.

That 2009 team is definitely my favorite of the bunch due to them pulling us out of the "Dark Ages" so to speak. I was 12 in '92 and we hadn't won in 17 years.

My Saints won the Super Bowl that season so 2009 will be hard to top for me, at least football wise.

However,I'm not sure they were our best team of the Saban era.

Certainly had a knack to win games. They were fun as hell to watch. The offensive line was physical, the receiving core was deep (Julio, Peak, Hanks, and Maze), great special teams, amazing RBs (Upchurch, Richardson, and Heisman winner Mark Ingram), and of course, the best defense in the nation lead by Butkus winner Rolando McClain.

Shame Hightower got injured. That defense would have been even more impressive- even though Nico and Reamer did a good job of replacing him.

If those 4 teams played a Round Robin tournament, I think they would finish in this order....

#1 - 2012. AJ, Lacy, Cooper...and a devastating D. (the opposing coach in the National Championship game hoped Bama wouldn't come back for the 2nd half for God's sake lol)
#2 - 2009. Great D, Good QB in McElroy, & Julio, Ingram, Richardson together.
#3 - 2015. Best front 7 Ever. Heisman RB in Henry. Great WR with Ridley.
#4 - 2011. I rank it last for one simple reason. WR's. You gotta have a WR threat when you are playing the other elite Bama D's. 09 had Julio. 12 had Cooper. 15 had Ridley. 11 had...Marquis Maze.

My uncle has a football signed by all 6 AAs and Saban. Only those 7 individuals, wasn't a ball from the entire team. Has it documented too.

Wonder what the appreciation on that thing will look like 30 years from now.

What's absolutely crazy is that a motivated and hungry 2010 teams beats all 4. Probably with ease. So much talent on that roster. Worst coaching job of Saban's career.

Talent, yes, but they were green and there were a lot of injuries.

The 12 OL vs the 15 DL would be EPIC!

2011 was my favorite overall. If it had the 2015 DL, imagine the defense with Robinson Reed Allen with McClain Mosley Upshsw Johnson Kirkpatrick Milliner Barron Lester.

I agree...but I'd have 2015 a very close second as they played the toughest schedule of any of those Bama teams...heck, I've read from more than one source saying the 2015 team had one of the toughest schedules in history...

Tough for me to say definitively which one I thought was best. 2009 had several scares - Virginia Tech, Tennessee, LSU, Auburn, Texas. The only team that was competitive with the 2011 squad was LSU, and even in the loss they were clearly double-digits better than that team. Both the 2009 and 2011 offenses were much worse than 2012 or 2015.

My opinion is this.
Best offense: 2012
Best defense: 2011
Best special teams: 2009

But the 2015 team was my favorite due to their heart.

Best Offense
#1 2012
#2 2009
#3 2015
#4 2011

Best Defense
#1 2011
#2 2015
#3 2012
#4 2009

Best Special Teams
#1 2009 (Arenas)
#2 2012 (Christion Jones)
#3 2015 (Cyrus Jones)
#4 2011 (Maze)

Lowest Point Total signifies strongest team....

#1) 2012 6 Points
#2) 2009 7 Points
#3) 2015 8 Points
#4) 2011 9 Points

I agree with 2012. Wasn't it a pic of the 2012 team where every player on the defense and offense was currently on an NFL team?

If you want to add Coaching, I'd have...

Coaching
#1 2015 (Saban, Kiffin, Smart)
#2 & #3: 2009 & 2011 (Saban, McElwain, Smart)
#4 2012 (Saban, Nussmeir, Smart

Their is more to special teams then a punt returner.
2015 might have had the best all around special teams of the Saban era.

5 punt returns for TD
1 kickoff return for TD
3 blocked punts 1 for TD, 2 for safeties
21-29 field goals
45 yard punt average
2 onside kick recoveries

2009 was my freshman year. 2015 was my 2nd year in my masters. The past 7 years have been good to me.

Edit: 2009 was definitely my favorite though. Beating Tebow was so sweat and campus was insane that night.

Also throw in at least 2 blocked FGs (Pettway against Clemson, against UF in the SECCG) and at least 1 blocked PAT (A'Shawn leaping the center against LSU)...there may be others I'm not recalling...

2009 was special, but the 2015 team showed a lot of heart.

They were dead, buried and GONE!
