The first game after the expansion which put Bryant-Denny's capacity above 92,000.

Wasn't this the game where their quarterback vomited all over the field?

That was a pretty good Hawaii team. Bama had to have the win otherwise they would be trailing the all time series. Bama has a 2-1 lead now.

Yep. Colt Brennan. Other than that he had a pretty good night against us, especially in the second half. I was at this game and distinctively remember that shovel pass giving our defense fits.

But, as it turned out, this was actually a pretty good Hawaii team. They finished 11-3 on the year and would go undefeated in the regular season the very next year.

That was the disastrous first game of the new stadium. I got there 50 minutes before kickoff and stood outside waiting to get in with 2-3,000 other students until almost halfway through the 2nd quarter. It was a total disaster.

It had something to do with underestimating the number of gates needed or something. Later we figured out that the corner gates were fine, but for some reason they had them blocked off or something. I remember that they emailed out an apology and had it fixed by the next game, but man it was rough. Liquored up people standing in a mob trying to get in while it is 95 degrees without water and needing to use a bathroom made for an ugly situation.

We were coming off of 2005. We thought we might be pretty decent.

First time I got drunk with my older siblings at the tailgate. My sister said "that's not your first beer is it"

Nice.

This was my first game as a college student, though I was attending JSU at the time. I was sitting in the student section with a friend who had gotten me a guest ticket. We had fun.
