NCAA hits us with 21 lost + bowl ban.

Just some perspective on the proposed 9 over 3 from Ole Miss.

Yes but 150k is a lot more than what's being reported out of the OM camp.

True, but OM also has academic fraud and the outstanding Tunsil issues.

Offhand, I think they get spanked harder than what they self imposed bthis is also a kinder, gentler NCAA.

As always, only time will tell.

They are going to be punished fairly imo. About 15 scholarships, 1 year post season ban and limited recruiting from the staff. All that will happen is they will return to battling State for last place in the west. It was probably worth it for them.

Ole Miss' punishment won't approach what happened to Bama. Penn State is the only team in the last 20 years with any sanctions on par with early 2000s Bama, and most of those were overturned.

Bama got slapped so hard because we were a repeat violator then the Means shite hit the fan.....Ole Miss is in real trouble but it won't be as severe as what they dished out to us.

I like to see where some people took this. What I was getting at more than anything is we prepared for 15, we were OK with 15, local media said the 15 might stick, and the NCAA made it cut deeper, plus the bowl bans.

I've never studied other self imposed sanctions to know the average number that are raised in major infractions cases. Ours was raised 40% from our offer though

It was also because it occurred on the tail end of the NCAA's period of dishing out harsh punishments. That period started in the late 70s and wrapped up in the early 2000s. Now the NCAA is basically resigned to the fact that they can't stop cheating.

Well there is other stuff with them that is yet to come out. It will probably be something like 12 over 3 years.

Yeah the 6 extra scholarships, 2 year postseason ban, and 5 years of probation.

Our fanbase went from "It's cool, we can ride this out" to "Yep, we're fricked".
