Edward Aschoff with ESPN.com released an article today about the quarterback battles heading into fall camp throughout the SEC and LSU's Anthony Jennings and Brandon Harris were included in the conversation.

Here is what he had to say:
quote:

LSU

Anthony Jennings vs. Brandon Harris: Jennings ended last season with mixed reviews after replacing an injured Zach Mettenberger. And his spring got even tougher with the emergence of Harris, a true freshman. Both are incredibly inexperienced, but have that dual-threat quality that will help either this fall, as they try to run this offense. Harris really impressed his coaches and teammates this spring, and many think he might have a slight advantage. Coach Les Miles raved about him at SEC media days and praised his throwing ability, something Jennings has to work more on going forward. Advantage: Harris
Which quarterback do you see starting for LSU when the Tigers take the field vs. Wisconsin?

Lets just hope he is a cross between Manziel and Mettenberger's throwing ability, not that Johnnny's passing is bad.

I hope they play the game. If they do they will both be successful. It's when it becomes more than just a game that destroys a player. Aka JJ, Shep, and others not "playing" to their potential. Good luck to both and enjoy the ride.

". If he doesn't get the job; i wouldn't be surprise to see him transfer. "- Maybe after his Jr year but he would be dumb to leave before that since we only have 2 QBs and QBs get hurt...A LOT!

My 12 year old has been in 5 camps this summer with Brandon Harris. At one, Brandon brought Leonard Fournette. At another, Travin Dural. Malchi Dupre has been speaking glowingly of the young man ever since he joined the fray. Not that Freshman make any kind of determination on who will be behind center but all of these kids have a tremendous amount of respect for Brandon already. When Mike Vick shows up at a camp and starts throwing fly patterns to the local talent and Brandon moves to the background when he was just throwing a better looking long ball - this kid exudes class. Tre White was at the last camp with Mo, Bennie and Lamin... All of these guys have fallen in love with Brandon and his demeanor and have publicly stated they think he'll be the starter. Richard Murphy and Richard Dickson have been in camp with Brandon this summer and it was obvious they were both impressed with him. Brandon came to Jacob Hester's camp and was phenomenal with the kids. We've had our share of talented kids who made some poor decisions that embarrassed themselves, their families and the program. Brandon is not that kid. I appreciate what Anthony did for us last year but he's clearly behind Brandon in his decision and play making ability. For a kid to come in with 3 months of study under his hat and separate himself like he did in the spring game. This kid could be a Jameis Winston without the 5 finger discount issues...

Best wishes to both. Doesn't matter to me as long as CCC doesn't let it drag out. An established starter is imperative before SEC play.

Sadly, I predict JJ/JL v2.0

I see them sharing time vs Wiscy. If the spring is any indication, BH will emerge as the starter before SEC play.

kind of feel sorry for jennings. waited his turn but he may never get to lead the team. If he doesn't get the job; i wouldn't be surprise to see him transfer. That's why we see 2015 and 2016 QB offers being handed out. I think the coaches know that...

I could see jennings starting the first game as I could harris even though I believe Harris has the higher ceiling.
