Study Declares Boston College vs. Notre Dame Rivalry The Most 'Unbalanced' In College Football
Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports
If you've ever wondered or had a debate with your friends about what is the most unbalanced rivalry in college football, the internet has answered and it's Boston College vs. Notre Dame. Per Reddit CFB...
quote:

“In 2015-16, we surveyed fans (n=5,145) across the five major professional leagues in the United States and Canada. To do so, we posted links to our surveys on fan message boards for every team in Major League Baseball (MLB), Major League Soccer (MLS), the National Basketball Association (NBA), the National Football League (NFL), and the National Hockey League (NHL). In August 2013, we surveyed college football fans (n=5,317) from 122 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS, or Division I-A) teams using on an online questionnaire posted on 194 fan message boards. In the KnowRivalry survey, we ask sports fans about ‘rivalry points,’ as well as respondent identification with the team, feelings and schadenfreude toward opponents and/or their fans, behavioral measures of bias, and basic demographic questions.”
I'm sure this is different year to year based on what kind of season each team is having, but this makes sense to me. Can you think of a more unbalanced rivalry? You can read more here.

Unc-Clemson is the most lop sided in basketball. Very few of us were born the last time Clemson beat UNC at Chapel Hill and they play annually.

We have a rivalry with Alabama. They don't have a rivalry with us.

Notre Dame - Navy was really lopsided

Our "rivalry" with gumps is getting more out of proportion each year. Time to reverse that trend.

I wonder why they didn't take actual on field play (wins/losses) into account, since they're talking about it being "unbalanced"? Since Larry can't do research to add more context, I looked it up :). Mcubed.net has the all-time series at 14-9, ND leading by 5 games. The Average score: Notre Dame 24.9 - Boston College 19.3. I know the study took other things into account, but when I see these numbers, the last thing I think is unbalanced. Even when I think of the things they went by, I don't think it's the most unbalanced rivalry out of all the leagues they mentioned.

Note: a few other sites also had the series at 14-9, ND leading, while Wikipedia shows it at 13-10, ND ahead. I didn't read enough of wiki to see why they had different numbers than the rest, bc it's wiki lol, but just thought that was an interesting note.

i think because rivalry is all about the feeling. like... we're continuously called "rivals" with arkansas over that stupid boot trophy, but... we're not rivals. because LSU fans DGAF about it

how about you post the fricking stats to support your fricking theory instead of making us go look it up

If you're talking about Larry, it's because he's too busy looking at Paulina Gretzky and playing with himself to do research and add anything, besides a copy/paste.

BC did ruin a championship season for them in 1994(?).
