I loved the crayon drawn intro, "We frick shite Up".

Ali is a good due to the popularity but I'd argue Mary T. Meagher is up there as well.

Our city government is suing to keep local journalists from requesting information and video from them on the premise of “safety”.

It’s a full on fricking coordinated surveillance effort. That should bother more people.

re: F1: The Movie

It was a fun watch. Thought it was decently acted. But I also went in knowing it wasn't "real" in that regard.

I thought Rush was a better F1 movie. Almost always watch it when it comes back on.

I don't think I would either, but a heated blanket can be nice sometimes

If it's cheaper to have just a cooling system I'd prefer that.

Fans and bamboo sheets make a pretty damn comfortable setup as it is. It would need to be a value for product thing

I would just invest in some good fleece sheets and a nice comforter for winter for the warming end. They also make mattress covers that are heated but even when it gets the coldest here, we just need some good fleece sheets and maybe add an extra blanket.

I'd stick with looking for exclusively a cooling system like chillsleep or something like that.

And you're repeating the silly tactic by pretending that because some new things have been made, there's no a massive industry of recycling old IPs ?

It’s not a big deal when it’s a remake of a remake of a remake. From a novel written 70 years ago. The last Cape Fear was made 35 years ago.

Nor when the platform at hand has plenty of new, groundbreaking even, content. It would be a valid critique if that wasn’t the case.

I’m sure you will survive. Better yet, you can just not watch it (but you do that already).

I was down for this until I saw it saw “series” at the end. In no way should this be a series. And because it is, I think I may have to skip it. Not everything has to be a fricking tv show these days. It’s annoying. This should be a movie.

It looks it’s going to go 10 episodes. Not sure how I feel about that either. I don’t mind them making it a miniseries but it needs to be an actual miniseries (2-3 episodes). Supposedly critics were given 8 of the 10 episodes.
quote:

Why are you using this ridiculously disingenuous tactic? It’s abundantly clear that this is the second reiteration of the original Cape Fear. Why keep remaking older projects?

I understand that you want to deflect away from the most obvious thing and try to take the conversation down on a pointless rabbit hole. But I’m not falling for it.

You specifically said “make new stuff”. Most of AppleTV’s content is new stuff, award winning even. The occasional remake of a remake isn’t an issue. Thats not a “rabbit hole”. I was specifically addressing your comment.

Make new stuff.

Are you arguing AppleTV doesn’t have plenty of “new stuff” on the roster?

As former -- long ago -- professional cook. Chicken is a forgiving protein with no real discerning customers. No one goes to a sit down restaurant to order CHICKEN.

It depends on the cuisine. At a French place, if I’m going more than once, I’ll try the chicken because it’s one of the cornerstone proteins of their cuisine.

That said, the local French place we go to charges about $25-$30 for their chicken dish. But it also comes with like 3 sides (asparagus, cremini mushroom dressing, fingerling potatoes). And the chicken portion is huge.

West Virgina is pretty much on to Omaha and 6 teams haven't even teed it up yet for game 1.

This makes me irrationally angry.

Could’ve been us. :wah:
They stole the hitting coach we had when we went to Omaha. :wah:

I know everybody absolutely loved Breaking Bad but I struggled to get into it. And just have never gone back to it.

The Big Lebowski is just a “meh” movie. Save for a couple scenes, it’s just not that funny. It also caused a whole generation to rag on a great band because a movie character “hates the frickin Eagles, man.”

I enjoy the Big Lebowski but I openly admit a chunk of that enjoyment was my hometown (Louisville) creating and hosting Lebowski Fest and everything that went along with it.

i my defense i *DO* own the lake in front of my house

i've got the paperwork and had to pull it out when some a-hole teens posted up and started claming 'imminent domain' or some shite and we had to get the cops out and showed them the paperwork and these a-hole STILL wouldn't leave and the cops almost had to cuff them to get them to go.

bullshite. fricking millenials.

eta i have a few photos & video from the whole scene my wife took i can add to the thread

I mean you handled it how it should've been handled. Tell the frickers its your property and they need to leave. Give them the opportunity. Call the cops if they don't and let them handle it.

Ol' Boomer just straight up tried to drown the guy over it. It isn't worth it at that point. Guy will likely spend some of his last years in jail because he clearly was trying to drown the younger guy.
