But we will unite and defend will wade hiring 25 yo bb professional players from the European league lol! Can look in the mirror now if we want. Everyone knows what the real answer is on this subject.
Other schools were pursuing those same players. It's pretty trashy, but its also currently allowed.
Someone gambling on his own team, that's always been explicitly not allowed
re: Your team's floor and ceiling in 2026?

LSU,
floor is 6
Ceiling is 11
We're probably looking at 8 or 9. Be nice if a WR emerges, and another linebacker

How does st John's have a better baseball team than lsu?
That's wild

Here's the last play with the awkward premature slide.
The play before was a popped up foul ball behind 3rd that the 3B misjudged, let up on, and then failed to get to.

Wow
At first I was going to give the guy the benefit of the doubt, but after actually seeing it- he'd already leveled off, and was now turning sideways instead of running straight at the wall. He could have not slid, at which point he runs under the ball and makes the catch on the warning track, and doesn't make contact with the wall.

What if Alabama being better at baseball generates more fan interest and generates more money earmarked for baseball while not affecting funding for football? That is the more likely scenario.
Baseball doesn't work that way. Baseball loses money. The better you are, the more money you lose. See TN basketball as an example, or most any baseball program.
It may once have been marginally profitable somewhere like LSU (say 10k) season tickets.
I assume with NIL, that completely kills profit margin. College baseball doesn't demand a premium for tickets, but good players will cost a pretty penny. You're convincing them to go to college instead starting out in the minors
Not gonna talk shite about UGA (or State), but this doesn't translate to Omaha. Most of the home runs become fly ball outs there. Whoever advances will need to focus on hitting line drives, not fly balls.
Said this regarding the Ole Miss-Auburn series, too. The announcer kept raving about one hit to left; in Omaha that ball may not even have been deep enough to tag up and advance (could do it from 3rd, but any other base would be risky)

Ole Miss made the football playoff and advanced to the semifinals. Made the baseball tournament and has advanced to Omaha.
Their fans constantly talk about LSU instead of their own school's success. Seems pretty insecure to me.
As for discussing LSU, they replaced the football and basketball coaches to address that issue. Baseball was a flop this year, but since thr coach has won 2 of the past 3 national titles, he's earned the chance to fix it.

I always preferred Prince over Michael Jackson. I listened to 1999 more than Thriller.
Both were great performers and also freaks, but at least Prince was straightforward about being a freak, and he also was a way more talented musician.
I'll add to this;
Both were sexually obsessed, but Prince fixated on hot women (Vanity, Carmen Electra, etc). He may have been bi or pansexual, but he was clearly attracted to adult women.
Michael Jackson clearly seemed to focus on children. Even the adult women he occasionally appeared with, were child celebs. Brooke Shields etc. Very creepy and weird.
Both could hit falsetto notes, but Prince spoke like a man, and also sang like one a lot. Jackson never dropped the 8 yr old prepubescent voice, I don't know if he had hormone therapy or was just a fricking weirdo. People claimed his skin lightening was a "medical condition" but I don't buy that, it was bleaching. His nose was clearly surgically altered. He was turning into Liz Taylor, or maybe Mary Poppins.
I'd say Prince was a supreme horndog and musician, but ultimately pretty secure in who and what he was. Jackson was a weirdo, and beyond the money and fame, I don't think there was much likeable about him.

Supers - just gotta win a weekend series against 1 opponent
Yes, there are some good teams out West, and in other conferences such as the ACC (and to a lesser extent other Southern conferences). Talent may be close to equal, to be honest. But you have a weekend grind in the SEC.
Take LSU- finished 14th. Play a little better in the 8th and 9th innings, LSU could take the series vs Oklahoma, could have swept Miss State, could have taken 2 of 3 vs UGA, etc. That's not building LSU up this year (we sucked); but how many other conferences do you have bottom dwellers who make the top teams work hard? You have to EARN wins in the SEC.
You get to a super regional vs a team not accustomed to that, you have an advantage.

I can’t remember any other Big 12 programs outside of OU and Texas being any good. Maybe Tech occasionally

Schwabb is a pitcher friendly park and the pitchers at that stage are usually better than most.. which puts runs at more of a premium than other parks
Let me point out as an LSU fan, in 2023, we had Skenes (insanely good), and then ... blah, during conference play.
Our other weekend starters were Hurd (ERA 5.68) and Floyd (ERA 4.45). Most of our relievers got slapped around. We had to outslug people.
We hit Omaha, and all those meatballs we served up for homers became flyball outs. Our key relief pitchers came in and pitched to contact, and kept things inside the park (other than game 2 of the finals vs Florida).
I don't think they suddenly improved, I think they could pitch in that stadium and survive.

Jesus
Yeah, 95% of the time, they are. And Ole Miss no longer has Lane Kiffin, who was the guy that elevated them.
We fricking fired Brian Kelly because of unacceptable losses... to Ole Miss, A&M and Vanderbilt. We expect to win those games. I never thought I'd see the day where a fan cries because we "have to" play them.

That's not a bad pick... I would have leaned North Carolina as a favorite before this weekend. But then USC smoked them game one. They're red hot right now.

Is anything really possible or do you have to have dominant pitching to win?
You don't need dominant pitching; 2023 LSU had a bunch of guys who got lit up in SEC play.
In Omaha, those meatballs become fly ball outs.
The bigger key is for the hitters. Don't swing for the fences, go for line drives. Unless the wind is blowing out, you dont see a lot of home runs

The Red Elephant Club definitely did their job politicking to the league office this year knowing they would be breaking in a new starting QB.
What are you even bitching about? That's 3 conference games, a P4 team supposed to be a power (and beat them last year), and a team traditionally one of the better mid-majors.
Hell, we (LSU) open with
Clemson
La Tech
Ole Miss
A&M
McNeese
That's 2 conference games, a P4 power team we beat last year, a mid major, and an FCS team

No, it's not about markets, it's about name brand.
I guarantee more people on the East Coast watch Texas and Oklahoma, than watch Rutgers.
But I dont think Ga Tech moves the needle. Football, it would be Miami, Fla State or Clemson. North Carolina and Duke would bring in the basketball fans.
SEC is theABC/ ESPN brand, so figure who they would want.

With Clyde’s line? The best line in the history of LSU football? Sure. But with the same line? No shot. Even you wouldn’t - not if you had real money on it.
Alabama was getting in the backfield a lot vs Clyde that game, just as they did vs Fournette.
Fournette did this
While Clyde did this
It seems pretty clear that they want to alter the mindset and core belief and value system of a specific group of the population; it's happening a lot in both children's shows (young kids), and in action movies (males, especially younger males).
They're trying to make certain lifestyles that the current population considers deviant, socially acceptable. They think if they pair the message with something we want/like (action movies and shows), viewers will acclimate.
As for them 'not caring about the money', I disagree. I think it's a calculated expense, and the losses will be for a single generation or maybe 2.

Amazon owns the rights to the franchise so I doubt that happens.
You see an absolute frick-ton of woke, liberal takes.
And then every once in a while, you get a Reacher, or even a Terminal List.
I'm not sure how Terminal List happened, other than Chris Pratt was a big name and they decided money was better than message. I'm glad they did.
But the Tom Clancy Amazon stuff is awful. Most of it has been from the exact opposite political viewpoint that a Tom Clancy book fan (not the movies) would likely have. The Venezuela season made me disgusted in so many ways.
