Maybe. Idk. Vaughn has us in the CWS so I’ll default to him as no one is paying me to coach baseball.
Definitely would love to see Torres kill it in Omaha. I don’t think anyone on the board has been overly ugly toward him. The fans are way nastier toward Ryan Williams for having a plushie

I'm sorry but seeing y'all use batting average as a measure of a player's productivity is very frustrating. It's just a meaningless stat these days. .245/.350/.515 is substantially more productive than .325/.360/.400.
True enough but I do think putting the bat on the ball matters in the position he’s in. It’s great to have high OBP but in a perfect world you want your 3, 4, 5 guys being able to hit the damn thing too since you have to drive in runs.
I get that BA is somewhat antiquated but you still have to have SOMEONE hit

Sure. Which is why context is important and you looks at a larger sample size.
There isn’t a single fanbase in America from tee ball to the majors that would be happy with their cleanup hitter hovering around the Mendoza line and not putting the ball in play with RISP.
The board was critical of his performance in that game but it’s backed up by his performance all year and you’re trying to go to bat for him with selective stats post UTvwhich are still kinda dogshit for a cleanup hitter in college baseball

Does he deserve to get shat on by this board? Also no.
Jason Torres isn’t on tigerdroppings dot com reading criticisms of himself. This is a fan board where we talk about the games. When your cleanup hitter goes 0-5 with 3 ks it’s going to draw some criticism. And most of the post were just suggesting he be moved down in the batting order which is probably still a good idea. He’s not Babe Ruth because he went yard against St John’s.
Everyone wants him to be great. I’d love if he keeps it up. We all would.
Baseball more than any other team sport is pretty transparent in terms of effectiveness. You get a big sample size and as many stats as you can possibly want to digest.
It’s not “well he had 13 drops but the QB overthrew him on 10 of them” or “his shooting percentage is down but he took 5 different end of half half court heaves”.
We all want Torres to be great.

lol no. It was an awesome grand slam. But he’s been pissing down his own leg for 2/3 of the season.
You can’t tell people criticizing a .230 hitter batting clean up to learn ball. I hope he stays hot. He’s definitely capable and most definitely due.

I thought getting caught placing bets on games your team participated in was supposed to be automatic permanent ineligibility.
It is. He should be more concerned with jail time. But a Lubbock judge ruled in his favor. This is going to be the straw that breaks the camels back. If you can’t control people calling the legitimacy of the sport into question then there’s no point having games.
Sorsby granted injunction and is eligible after gambling on his own team

This is insane. A local judge just ruled Sorsby at Texas Tech can play this year. He bet on college sports and bet Indiana games while on the roster. I’m actually at a complete loss.
Bediako was ruled ineligible because he spent one year in college and then played G League.

Don’t give Cignetti any ideas. He’ll schedule St John’s baseball for their football non-con

Yeah. If we end up losing a crucial game because Torres can’t even make decent contact in clutch situations then that would be managerial malpractice
At this point Torres needs to ask to be moved down. He knows he sucks rn and it’s on him to figure it out

It’s obviously better for us if we get into their bullpen and play tomorrow.
If we don’t play tomorrow then I can go to game 2. I’d rather just knock it out and be on to Omaha

I’d be fine with that. If he wants to keep the same right/lefty combos, then you just switch Torres and Hines. Either way, Torres shouldn’t be hitting 4th. It’s insane
My only guess is he’s trying to not “kill his confidence” and thinks he’ll hit his way out of it but it’s been awful since maybe even before conference play if my memory serves.
The confidence is dead and buried in an unmarked grave

I’m going to say it again. Torres has to sleep with a woman over 230 pounds. That’s the only way to get out of a slump so bad.

I don’t know what happened to Torres. He hasn’t always been this bad. Someone put a curse on him or something.

Clemson has to keep the lake so Dabo has something to walk on while he turns water to Busch Lite
Auburn vs Clemson is the Spider Man meme

I’m excited about that. My wife is from Miami and has family there. That will be a much easier ask than New York was

They just care about you being dumb enough to get caught.
Not even that really. They stopped testing for marijuana and pretty much just test for PED’s and “drugs of abuse” which is almost exclusively cocaine.
PEDs have a pretty low level of ban and then the “drugs of abuse” is what have gotten guys like OJ Mayo, Chris Anderson, and others sent out for 2 years. Which is pretty hard to come back from
