re: Why did Ashton Larson transfer ?
Posted by thunderbird1100 on 6/8/26 at 12:35 pm to TigerDM
Larson had 2 extra base hits in all of SEC play while hitting .255
Yeah he would have played some this season (who didnt); he wouldnt have made any diffrence though

If you had enough real world support for an amendment you wouldn’t need it in the first place because voters would regularly be sending incumbents packing.
Again you know why this really doesnt happen often but still wont admit it
As long as Chuck Schumer wants to run he will get all the financial backing no other D from NY would ever hope to get

I am in favor of term limits but more generous ones. Freshman senators and reps are really learning on the job much of their first terms, understanding how and what they are actually allowed to do per the rules of the bodies, committee rules and appointments etc.
There's an army of people dedicated to helping these folks adjust and learn.
Once they understand how to operate, they can be more effective. I would be up for 2-3 terms for senators and 4-6 for reps.
Presidents only get 8 years max, I am fine if they want to shift from a rep to senator, but a max of 12 years over both seems like plenty in terms of being in congress

Voters could limit their terms every election.
Why do we have term limits on presidents then? Not congress member though? Doesnt really make much sense, maybe back in 1700-1800s it did more so.
The problem and you know it is incumbent candidates almost always get the financial backing of the party, new candidate challengers rarely do and if the districts rarely swing one way or the other you end up with runs like Chuck Grassley or Chuck Schumer

Just have number of term limits for Senators and Reps and it solves most of that problem
Would limit senators to 1 term and US reps to 3 max
They should be cycled out more often than they are

Question is how fast can this go up to the Texas Supreme court probably because thats where this gets overturned....but usually things like this take a LONG time to go through that process

Larson wanted an OF starting spot, he wasn't getting that here entering year 3
He transferred to Texas who gave him said OF starting spot, they replaced him late in games early on with a much better OF...then he lost that job and got moved to occasional DH/1B player
Same thing would have happened here, he just probably would have won the 1B job outright a lot sooner but Braun probably takes that 1B from him here. He was a very average at best hitter who wasnt a full time starter this year in the SEC. He didnt have a single HR and only 2 2B in 76 plate appearances in SEC play

Have we made any traction to the freshman catcher at LSU-E from Catholic or is he sticking around there for 1 more year?

isnt this the dude who fought a teammate on the field after a game and got kicked off the team? lol
He was the final out of a 3 game weekend sweep, threw his bat emotionally in frustration, a teammate got in his face about it and they had a shoving match
After talking about with coaches he said he wasnt coming back next year so he was "no longer on the team"

Did you literally miss the part he is a Top 40 MLB prospect for 2027 draft?
I think Jay knows what he's doing here. This guy is a premium defensive SS who hit over .300 and had 13 HRs in just 48 games (missed last 15 games of season)

You're right, i was looking at baseball reference and for whatever reason they have his hitting stats for this season but only fielding for 2025 (not 2026), where he played 2B.

Against Texas State, Oklahoma, Washington, Saint Mary's and Oregon this year here is his stat line (B10 or tournament teams only there):
10.2 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 17 K, 4 BB, 2 HBP, 0 WP, picked up 2 saves
Dude is legit, you have no idea what you're talking about. Where the fk do you think Paul Skenes or Anthony Eyanson came from?

Just wondering but do you just not have the money to help float this?
\So you're only covering what in-state cost would have been and its still $15k-$20k/yr? That seems very high unless you're also paying for cost of living.

I saw Ryan Costello is in the portal from Maryland.
He actually didnt lose his starting spot despite an abysmal conference season from him where he hit like .150. I guess they told him he didnt have a starting spot on lockdown for next season.
64analytics has him ranked #39 overall right now which is pretty laughable after the season he just had where he totally bombed in B10 play. That high school ranking is propping him a bit still as they are listing him as a FR on there which gives higher weight to HS ranking.
64 still has some tweaking to do in their ranking formulas I think

Really interesting guy considering he basically didnt play at Wofford his first 3 years there and then this year (Year 4) is a starter and hits nearly .375 (with no power really, but an insane clip nonetheless with more walks than strikeouts and nearly .500 OBP)
Played LF, which if he could play CF might be worth taking a strong look at but I just wonder why the dude couldnt get any playing time for 3 years at Wofford
re: Should the bracket re-seed after regionals?
Posted by thunderbird1100 on 6/4/26 at 2:51 pm to YoungSteele830
You would have to seed the entire field in case you didnt have 8 1 seed winners from the regionals
I.E. say 7 1 seeds win regionals, then 7 2 seeds, 1 3 seed, 1 4 seed
Who among the 2 seeds host a super? Where does rest of 2, 3 and 4 seeds get sent (need that regardless I guess of 7 or less 1 seed regional winners or not)? etc...
Does the 4 seed automatically get sent to the highest remaining national seed regional winner? Or by "luck of the original draw" gets sent to the 1 2 seed hosting?
