| I don't know about this guy. He isn't SEC caliber. I guess we need him though. Reply Back to Top |

quote: Our staff likes him better than Hardwick (thus the release from his scholarship). The kid will only be a sophomore so he will have time to develop. I also like the fact that he is a NYC kid who Im sure has a lot of toughness in his game from playing on the playgrounds up there. Reply Back to Top |
| Just got a tweet saying that Bloodman will commit and sign on his visit to Starkville this Thursday. Rick Ray has really brought in some good players over the past 2 weeks to go along with the 3 that were part of our previous coach's class which includes the Alabama Mr. Basketball Craig Sword, and first team all State in Mississippi players Gavin Ware and Fred Thomas. | Going by his offer list, I think he's a mid major type player who got high major offers late in the spring signing period from teams who need depth. That's just my opinion though. Reply Back to Top |

| He will make state forget about Dee Bost. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Dee was a very solid player for us, but I was never convinced that he was a TRUE PG who could run an offense. I mean he made plays but most were in transition or off penetration. Bloodman and Davis (the other PG signee) both come from schools who run motion offense very similar to what coach Ray is planning to implemtn this fall. Reply Back to Top |

| The "fitting the system" argument is the ultimate rationalization of why your coach is recruiting crappy players. Not speaking directly about MSU, but in general, that is dumb. You know what kind of players fit EVERY coach's system? Good players. Reply Back to Top |
| I agree. Bundy has convinced himself that we have a good team now. Reply Back to Top |

quote: When you are hired in early April there arent a ton of available prospects. You try to recruit the best available but you also recruit players who fit your system. I'm a Mississippi State fan and will ALWAYS support my school and it's teams. Reply Back to Top |
quote: So that justifies saying these prospects will be good because they fit "his system" rather than accepting the truth that this guy is a reach because he needs depth? That's like in the other thread you talking bad about Hood. He's a really good player who you wish would have stayed. Reply Back to Top |
| Being dishonest, with yourself and others, about the abilities of recruits, is not a prerequisite to fandom. There is absolutely nothing wrong with saying that a guy is a lower level recruit that State needs for depth. LSU needs depth in the post and I have been openly campaigning for a mediocre JUCO guy just as a body. I hope we get better than that, but I won't be saying some average guy is perfect because he "fits our coach's system." Reply Back to Top |
