quote: I can see why. I can't believe that Gruden would be woo'd by Daly after all of his flirtations. If he is, he's too stupid to coach at Tennessee anyway. Reply Back to Top |
quote: The Gruden thing is ridiculous. Someone on another board posted that Gruden has been offered the job and if we don't here anything in 24 hours than he didn't accept. Bold prediction. This post was edited on 4/17 at 4:34 pm Reply Back to Top |

| For the record, I wasn't implying that the Arkansas part was stupid. I was referring more to Daly's history of drama and letting someone like that broker a deal... Reply Back to Top |
| Oh yeah I know lol, I wasn't offended by that. There's always ridiculous claims of sources blah blah blah with every coaching search. And maybe I should clarify...the right info is always out there in all the mumbo jumbo, you just never know who is correct until the announcement is made. Everyone thought the Petrino claims were crazy when we hired him...a lot of people thought the Mike Anderson claims were nutso as well. You just never know what's going on and who is right. quote: Do you really think that Charlie Strong is an option? I don't think Arkansas has the money, nor would they be willing to spend that type of money on Strong. Reply Back to Top |

| Hmmm....Gruden takes like 4 million for a year...does nothing....he uses the Arky gig as a "tune-up" ....and then bolts for Tennessee in December when UT fires Dooley....brilliant. Ohhh and for all those UT fans pointing out Fulmer was 10-5/11-4....Chavis was the man and he is in Baton Rouge But how ironic if Hogs do better without Petrino. Reply Back to Top |
quote: WTF are you talking about? Petrino was like the 7th highest paid coach in the country. Reply Back to Top |

| Strong just signed a 7 year deal with Louisville. Buyout is $2.5 million if hired before June 30th, his base salary is $2.3 million ($16.1 million). Then include his $3.45 million in retention bonuses(starts kicking in 2015), and it would take over $22 million from Arkansas for him to break even. I don't see Long giving Strong that kind of money. | First of all it wouldn't cost that much....secondly, we could afford it. We are the dorky rich kid. But you are right....we wouldn't pay that much for Strong if that was indeed how much we would have to shell out. He's not worth it. Reply Back to Top |
quote: So basically we just have to buy him out and pay him near what we were paying Petrino. Not sure what the problem there is? Overpaying yes but not unaffordable. This post was edited on 4/17 at 4:55 pm Reply Back to Top |
| Strong isn't worth that but we could do it if we wanted. Reply Back to Top Refresh |
