quote:

If you have ever wondered why there has never been a male equivalent of the popular breastraunt craze, an eatery coming soon to Dallas should correct that.

Tallywackers, a restaurant and bar set to feature scantily-clad guys serving food and drinks, is looking to launch in May in Dallas’ Oak Lawn neighborhood, which is known as Big D’s “gayborhood” by locals.

Judging by Tallywackers’ promotional art, the bartenders and waiters are set to be handsome guys who spend more time in the gym and the tanning bed than most of regular schlubs.

This past week Tallywackers management put out a call for prospective bartenders, waiters, hosts, and cooks. Cooks, we hope, don’t have to work bare-chested.

The restaurant already has a Facebook page with a handful of photos of what appear to be applicants posing in boxer briefs and nothing else.

It remains to be seen though if something like this has legs long-term like those other places. Hooters just turned 32 years old and Twin Peaks just celebrated a decade of scenic views earlier this month.

If all goes to plan expect Tallywackers to open for business at 4218 Lemmon Avenue by summer.

If places like Twin Peaks, Bombshells, the Tilted Kilt, and Hooters can serve beer-happy bros with a side of cleavage and leg elsewhere, there has to be room for Tallywackers, right?

Oak Lawn means their clientele will most likely be male.

I have nothing to contribute to this thread other than that my mom called it a tallywacker when I was growing up. And still does.

My kids asked me what that word was once after staying with them and I had to explain it was their dick.
