I have a feeling this recruitment will be Leo Lewis 2.0

How long has it been since LSU has won jack shite in basketball.

The sad thing is, even if Newman goes to moo state they still have no chance at the tournament. Such a shitty school to be. Even when you do have a little bit of talent you still can't win anything with it.
(shrugs) Mississippi State has been to the NCAA Tournament more times this century (6) than LSU has (5), so whatever.
Mississippi State will be an NCAA Tournament team in 2016 with Malik Newman. Mark it down. Probably a double-digit seed/bubble team, but in there.

We were in a final 4 in 06
We won the SEC in 09
So a lot more recently than anything State has done. Ever

Hell. Ole Miss won the SEC tourney in 2013. More recently than State.

State won't even sniff the ncaa tournament. Good luck in the NIT. Sucks to suck

So you're saying State has never been to a final four or won a conference championship?

With future Hall of Fame coach Andy Kennedy right up the road? Heh, I don't think so, bud.

MSU went 6-12 this past year in the SEC. In 6 of those losses, MSU lead late and lost by less than 6 -- just ran out of gas.
Switch out a bad coach for a national top 10 one, and add an SEC Player of the Year-type player and Naismith Award contender and there's reason to think MSU can't go 12-6 next year, which gets them into the conversation. Malik+Howland aren't losing to teams like USC Upstate either.
It's not like MSU lost any significant contributors from last year's team.

So do you just not keep up with coaching changes or what?

I rarely actually laugh out loud reading posts on this site, but this one literally made me lol. I hope for your sake you don't actually believe a "national top 10" coach was just left sitting on the sidelines the past 2 years.

I don't get that vibe. Like basically everyone else, I'm wrong ALL THE TIME about basketball recruits but I kind of doubt he's coming to Lexington. Doesn't he want to play pg (despite being better suited to the 2)? Ulis isn't giving that spot up.

Newman to state. Internet rumor is an announcement will come the 24th.

He was left sitting on the sideline because he was a bad coach?
