Chase had a son yesterday, but he only weighed 12 ounces. So someone started taking donations for the family to help cover travel and what not.
Chase is a great guy who I've met a few times before.
The link to donate is below. Thanks.

Wow I wondered why he wasn't on the podcast. That's so sad. 6 grand raised in 3 hours is impressive.

Yeah I was curious why he was gone too. He'll be in Tupelo for a while it appears with this issue.
It wouldn't surprise me if they delay the podcast for a while.

Ross just tweeted it. Maybe we can hit 5 digits.

Chase and his wife are in our Sunday school class. They are truly good people. Wish them nothing but the best!
My wife told me that if their baby is able to pull through, it will be the youngest baby to ever make it in tupelos NICU. Praying a record is set for chase and his family

Jeez. How early was the baby?
My wife is at 24 tomorrow. Hearing these kinds of things scares me to death

Wow. Prayers to him. Chase is a great guy and I hope they're able to get it to 5 figures.
That pic just makes me cry. He's so tiny.
ETA: Just saw they have 11k so far. That's awesome

I wanna say about 24 weeks? No doubt it is scary. We have a 7.5 month old who just ran a fever for 4 days and I can't tell you how exhausting that is with both work and staying up with her. I don't think there are words to do justice to what they have to be going through. Lots of prayers going to them

Dang thats horrible. I hope that the little one can pull through. Thoughts and prayers sent your way Chase

That's a nightmare scenario

It really is. One day everything is fine and dandy and the next your world is turned upside down. I can't imagine what he's going through.

Nobody deserves that. Chase is a really good dude and I'm very proud of the way the community has responded.

The world is a cruel place for sure. Im already a pessimistic person so stuff like this just makes me worry worse about having kids. Im going to be a train-wreck when my wife gets pregnant

Chase's Response
Got me a little water eyed.
Wow so that's why I could only ever get a B+ or rarely an A- because people like that were writing papers.
My favorite thing Chase does is when Neil takes it a little to far on the the podcast and Chase says "stop just stop" it should be his catchphrase.

That's what is so great about those guys. They control and monitor each other so we get "unbiased" opinion. When one of them acts like a idiot the others will stop him.

It's over 25k now. That is so incredible.

I am not a doctor, so I was curious about the long term health outlook for a baby born this premature.
What are the chances of a baby being born this premature growing up to become a fully healthy baby / teen / adult?

A brief Google search tells me that babies born at 24 weeks have a 50% chance of survival. I think as long as they make it without serious complication there should be nothing preventing it from having a normal healthy life.
My sister was born three months premature. How many weeks is that? Roughly 24? She's tall and athletic so it didn't hurt her.
